Job Description:

This position is accountable for the overall assistance in the custodial maintenance of all Hingham Public School District school facilities, including but not limited to, assisting in developing and implementing long-range plans.

The Assistant Supervisor creates and monitors the development and implementation of ongoing custodial services and provides input on capital projects. This position is also accountable for independently conducting operations reviews and inspections of facilities for compliance with DPS, fire safety, and other applicable codes and regulations.

In this position, the candidate must work closely with the other departments to maintain custodial facilities operations for all school-operated buildings, grounds, and related capital assets in use.

Qualifications:

Five (5) years of relevant experience is preferred.
Associate's degree preferred.
Two (2) years of general experience must have been in supervising custodial, maintenance services, and/or building operations.
Required to possess and maintain a current Motor Vehicle Class D Operator's License and have a good driving record.
Required by the appointing authority to possess and retain appropriate licenses, permits, and/or certifications and keep them current and viable throughout their employment.
Must obtain OSHA 10 and Hoisting License within six (6) months from the hire date.

Responsibilities:

Interpret and explain contracts and technical information to other professionals.
Assist with selecting subcontractors and scheduling and coordinating their activities.
Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other problems.
Establish standard cleaning protocols and train custodians to ensure a healthy learning environment for staff and students.
Assist with snow removal and winter operations when necessary.
Identify project needs and deficiencies throughout the district.
Provide feedback and information to the Director and/or their designee that will help classify and prioritize major projects.
Provide support in the creation and development of presentations.
Familiar with all building systems.
Ensure the district's adherence to City and State policies, procedures, safety guidelines, and construction safety procedures.
Manages summer employment and hiring.
Thorough knowledge of methods, materials, and tools/equipment used in the care and maintenance of buildings, grounds and custodial equipment.
Provide contract management for minor projects.
Responds to principal requests and concerns; investigate and resolve/communicate problems in a timely manner.
Provide for inventory and product control.
Oversee and distribute security schedules and devices district-wide.
Complete bi-annual reviews of custodial staff.
Performs playground inspections and repairs.
Coordinates school's Green efforts within the school district and public.
To avoid delays or issues, provide routine project updates to the Director and other Departmental staff.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities.

The Director of Facilities is responsible for the overall condition, upkeep,
maintenance and repair of Hingham Public Schools, including all buildings and grounds, utilities,
energy management systems, and safety/security systems to provide a safe, healthy, and
comfortable environment for students, faculty, and staff. The Director of Facilities creates and
monitors the development and implementation of yearly operations and provides input on
capital projects. This position will work to assure compliance with all federal, state and local
rules, regulations, laws and ordinances that pertain to buildings and grounds. The candidate
must work closely with other School and Town Departments to maintain and repair
school-operated buildings, grounds, and related capital assets in use.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Building Construction,
Architecture, or related fields with appropriate years of experience in facilities
management.
● Five (5) years experience in Facilities Management and/or construction
● Must hold a valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
● Previous leadership experience in facility support services includes skills in financial
and asset management and capital planning and management.
● Strong knowledge of HVAC systems.
● Strong acknowledgment of MA procurement laws.
● MCPPO certified or plans to complete certification upon hiring.
● Possesses or ability to obtain OSHA-10 certification.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Operations:
● Review work in progress and assure proper completion of work orders, contracts, and
new capital projects.
● Oversee the building automation systems, preventative maintenance, service contracts,
utilities, and school assets to determine needed maintenance and repairs.
● Manage snow plowing and removal on all school properties. Facilitate the coordination
of large projects including deferred maintenance, preventive maintenance, energy
conservation, asbestos remediation and capital projects.
Leadership and Operations cont’d:
● Read and interpret building plans, blueprints, and specifications and assure conformance
with building safety codes, regulations, and requirements.
● Prepare and maintain records, files, logs, and reports related to inventory, supplies, work
requests, work performed, use of school buildings by various groups, and safety issues
using the school’s maintenance management software programs.
● Interface with local community activities, town agencies, and member community’s fire
and police departments and facilitate meetings when needed.
● Prepare invitations to bids and requests for proposals in accordance with Massachusetts
procurement laws 30B ad 149.
● Provide routine project and facilities updates to the Executive Director, Superintendent,
principals and other Departmental staff to avoid any delays or issues.
● Ensure proper close-out of all projects, including final punch list and close-out
documents.
● Completes other tasks as assigned by the Superintendent or their designee.
● Maintains and updates lists of capital improvement needs to help inform and develop
the district's ongoing capital plan. Reviews and prioritizes capital needs with Central
Office Administration, and assists in presenting the plan to town officials and the
community.
Personnel:
● Oversee custodial and maintenance personnel, service contract providers, and
contractors to coordinate and prioritize day-to-day support service activities and work
projects; assign, review, and evaluate the work of in-house personnel and service
providers involved in each of their assignments.
● Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work and
participate in the selection of new personnel as assigned.
● Negotiate vendor contracts.
Financial:
● Develop, organize, coordinate, and supervise the operating budgets, operation and
maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction of school assets and systems.
● Knowledge of state procurement laws, bid specification preparation, prevailing wage
laws, right to know, and CommBuys process.
● Assist in the development and implementation of capital and facilities planning to
improve school facilities.
● Manage, monitor, and report on annual operating costs and budget expenditures for all
support services.
Terms and Conditions of Employment:
● The nature of this position may require time beyond the regular workday, and it is
expected that the individual filling this position will prioritize completing the necessary
tasks and set hours accordingly.
● Constance light to moderate physical effort required in performing functions. Regularly
required to use hands to feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands
and arms.
● Frequently required to move (push, pull, lift) objects weighing up to 60 pounds, and

Position Overview: The Manager, Transitions Program (MTP) will primarily be responsible for directly teaching, counseling, assisting and supporting adolescents/young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to maximize their independence through skill development and pre-vocational training. The MTP will plan and execute Transitions/ Pre-Employment Transition Services directly with students (1:1, small or large groups) in classroom or community-based settings to help adolescents/young adults develop social, vocational, and workplace competency skills. The MTP will utilize a person-centered approach to provide support and case management services for adolescents/young adults, engaging effectively with their families, employers, and other community providers. Each Manager, Transitions Program (MTP) will oversee volunteer management - program recruitment, intake and processing of all Pre-ETS referral documentation, as well as ongoing data management to reflect program impact. Staff will perform responsibilities professionally, in collaboration with other team members in accordance with Best Buddies core values, policies, practices, program funding and applicable regulatory agency guidelines.

Job Requirements:
4 years experience or employment in job coaching, counseling, or special education; or other related experience working with persons with disabilities-- OR--Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as rehabilitation, counseling, social work, psychology, education, human resources, business administration, or economics from an accredited college or university and one year of experience as described above.
Preferably 1 year experience as an employment consultant and a proven strong record employer communications and relationship-- OR--1 year experience in special education or vocational training.
Must be adaptable and able to quickly and effectively develop and balance multiple relationships and get results from a variety of people.
Strong presentation, facilitation, project and time management skills.
Strong written communicator who pays close attention to detail; demonstrates a strong initiative, drive for results and self-assessment skills as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

Programs:
Coordinate with Friendship Program staff to identify potentially eligible program participants including, but not limited to, students with IDD, high school and/or transitions program partners, and meeting clear benchmarks for number and retention of partners and participants.
Develop positive relationships with families, support coordinators, referral sources, and other community stakeholders. Screen referrals and perform intakes for adolescents/young adults.

Coordinate and implement Best Buddies Transitions Program curriculum through classroom-based instruction, small group, and one-to-one support as appropriate. Curriculum includes, but is not limited to, job exploration counseling, self-advocacy, workplace readiness training, work-based learning experiences, and post-secondary educational counseling.
Coordinate with students’ support team to provide services consistent with students’ individualized needs as documented in the IEP.
Assume full responsibility for a caseload of transitions participants, including documenting all services and communications in participant case records in a timely manner.
Upon successful completion of the Transitions Program, initiate transfer of responsibilities to Jobs Program staff -- Job Development Specialist or Employment Consultant as applicable. Provide introduction to participant, natural supports/guardian, support coordinators and employer.
Attend training as needed to maintain required certifications per state regulating agency.
Actively engages in all Best Buddies Transitions related team meetings (virtually and in-person) to support national collaboration on best practices and alignment to national program standards

Marketing/Fund Development:
Work with supervisor(s) on fundraising events as directed.
Provide information regarding potential donors/supporters to supervisor(s) as appropriate.
Work with State Director and/or supervisor to increase awareness of Best Buddies through local marketing, public speaking and media initiatives.
Contributes content and images for updates to state website and social media.
Engages program participants in Best Buddies Day/Month activities.

Operations:
Complete required paperwork in a timely and organized manner, including but not limited to case file documentation; monthly, quarterly, and annual paperwork; reports required by local funding agencies; and incident and grievance reports.
Maintain an organized filing system for all relevant paperwork, including intake forms and authorizations, and uses Salesforce and other databases effectively and appropriately to manage contacts; all data entry will be completed by established timelines.
Collaborates with supervisor to ensure that all required reporting is completed accurately and in a timely manner to maximize funding.
Collaborates with supervisor to prepare for any audits or accreditations.

About the Opportunity:

The Operations Supervisor assists in overseeing the safe and efficient operation of vessels while ensuring the highest level of guest service. Ensuring each vessel operates according to tasking.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Able to work a flexible schedule to support coverage of vessel operations.
Adheres to service contracts reporting policy as stated in Operations Manual.
Ensures the safety and security of vessels and facility using visual observation while conducting walk-throughs and reporting any unusual occurrences to Operations Manager and upper management.
Mitigate and manage hazards and incidents with passengers or crew, vessels, or facility until emergency services arrive and/or Operations Manager or Port Director arrives.
Assist the Operations Manager with creating crew schedules.
Able and willing to act as crew, ticket or galley staff as required.
Distributes and collects banks, including tickets, corresponding receipts, and all relevant documentation.
Distributes daily tasking sheets and vessel assignments.
Inspect vessels, ticket booths, dock, terminal, and the area surrounding the terminal for safety concerns and
Works collaboratively with guests to resolve guest issues and report issues to Operations Managers.
Assists Operations Managers with crew training and record keeping.
Ensures that vessels, offices, storage areas, and facility gates are locked and secured at the end of the night.
Assists with the overall general maintenance of vessels, dock, and terminal.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Have or be eligible to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
Have or be eligible to obtain a USCG 100Ton License Preferred.
Current First Aid/CPR Certification.
