About the Role:
Imtra’s service department consists of several positions that work closely together as a team. The service technician is an individual role responsible for running and maintaining the service shop, with input and cooperation from other members of the service team, product managers and engineering. How You Can Help
We’re looking for a detail-oriented contracts administrator to join our team of dedicated and resourceful experts coordinating agreements that fund environmental projects throughout our region. As a part of the contracts team, you will work collaboratively with internal and external partners and provide administrative support by:
• Performing data entry and data management, tracking contractor deliverables and monitoring project statuses, managing Outlook emails, and developing a variety of forms, mail merge templates and presentations.
• Analyzing insurance documents for compliance with specifications, processing contract packages and invoices, and creating charts and reports.
• Providing administrative support to the Contracts Manager during subaward drafting, contract procurement, and closeout processes.

What We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will have:
• A bachelor’s degree in business management or related field, and at least three years of related full-time professional experience. An associate degree in a related field and five years of experience will be considered if computer skills are of an advanced level.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel experience, with database management capabilities. The ability to perform Excel power queries and create pivot tables, loader files, and charts is needed. Excel certification a plus.

What We Offer

Temporary Maintenance Worker

The Middlesex Sheriff’s Office (“MSO”) is seeking a temporary maintenance worker to work in the Facilities and Maintenance Department at the Middlesex Jail & House of Correction located in Billerica, MA. We are looking for positive, reliable, and honest individual who will take pride in their work and can thrive in a challenging setting. The applicant must be able to work on a flexible schedule from 6:00AM to 6:00PM at the discretion of management. This is a non-exempt seasonal contractual position. Applicants will work on a contractual hourly basis. The applicant must comply with all institutional policies regarding safety and security within the correctional facility. The individual selected for this position shall be cognizant of the confidential and sensitive nature of working in a law enforcement agency. This position reports to the Assistant Deputy Superintendent I / Maintenance, Facilities Manager and/or the Assistant Superintendent.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Ability to work on the grounds of a correctional facility and other MSO facilities and work within the constraints of a correctional setting.
• Responsible for the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding a correctional facility. Plants flowers, mows, pulls weeds, repairs structures, and maintains grounds outside of MSO facilities. Perform grounds keeping and building maintenance duties.
• Cut lawn using power or riding mower and trim and edge around walkways, flower beds, and walls.
• Perform routine maintenance duties such as applying plaster, fixing fountains, and other duties. Sweep walkways of debris.
• Install tents and other outdoor structures. Cut down tree limbs and maintain trees on the MSO grounds.
• Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed. Water plants and grass as needed.
• Ability to keep accurate records, tool/equipment inventory and generate timely reports as required.
• Operate machinery and equipment to perform the duties noted above.
• Knowledge of construction safety requirements. Knowledge and/or willingness to be trained on components found in a correctional facility.
• Must be able to work independently and well with others.
• Ability to think on their feet and troubleshoot any number of problems.
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Be punctual, reliable, and well organized, having the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Must be able to work in adverse environments including hot, cold, dust/fumes, dark and sometimes uncomfortable positions. Must be able to crawl, kneel, climb ladders, squat, and stand for long periods.

  • Develop and implement an annual comprehensive maintenance plan that is both corrective and preventive for the upkeep of all facilities, grounds and major facilities systems (HVAC, waste water, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, structural and fire prevention) of the Academy.  Provide an efficient work order system for repairs of facilities and equipment that ensures that all maintenance and repairs are completed in a timely fashion.  Recommend facility improvement and modernization to improve the systems, equipment and facilities of the Academy. 
  • Review the annual budget with the Director of Operations & Maintenance, ensuring all aspects can be attained and implement.
  • Develop a custodial services plan for each building that outlines the tasks and expectations for the custodial employees (“Maintainers”), indicating a detailed daily and periodic schedule for cleaning and simple repairs of the facilities.
  • Conduct regular inspections for all Academy facilities, grounds and equipment to ensure that high standards for cleanliness, attractiveness and safety are maintained.  Recommend to the Vice President of Operations any improvements needed.
  • Ensure all in-house aspects of construction, renovations, alteration, repairs and operation of all physical facilities are executed properly.  Work with the Vice President of Operations to ensure that all project work is performed as required by all Authorities having Jurisdiction.
  • Perform required written evaluations of Administrators and classified personnel under the department’s jurisdiction. Deals with all union and personnel matters relative to the department in conjunction with the Human Resources department.
  • Ensure correct utilization and accountability of requisitions/purchase order system and chargeback system for supplies and fuels used by other campus departments.
  • Work collaboratively with the Environmental, Health & Safety Office of all Haz Mat situations, remedies and actions for the Academy.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of the operations, maintenance, repair and improvements to a power plant, utility distribution systems, HVAC systems and equipment, wastewater treatment plant equipment, and energy conservation programs, methods and techniques.

  • Professional experience in the management of a campus physical plant, wastewater treatment plant and its employees.
  • Preferred possession a valid Second Class Stationary Engineer’s license as regulated under MGL Ch146; a valid Sewage Treatment Operator’s license and other related certifications necessary to properly supervise the operation of high-pressure boilers, high[1]temperature water generators air conditioning and ancillary/auxiliary equipment associated with the plant.

  • Assist with the recruitment, selection and training of upper-class student leaders within the company ∙ Conduct regular inspections of cadet rooms, provide support to cadets in meeting uniform and room inspection standards, help cadets understand how to navigate academic and regimental expectations, supervise cadet leave and liberty.
  • Participate in morning formation (Monday-Friday) at 7:15am during academic year ∙ Serve in an on-site, on-call capacity one night per week throughout the academic year. On call staff share a staff suite for overnight duty.
  • Participate in sea term as assigned – a 52 consecutive day, training ship cruise (typically early January – mid February) for cadets with responsibilities that parallel ‘on shore’ duties (on call responsibilities, providing care, advocacy and support to cadets, etc). All selected candidates must comply with Mass. Maritime Academy military customs, uniforms and ranks and participate in random drug screening.
  • Serve as a disciplinary officer with responsibility for hearings within the company and investigations involving cadets in the company that may be referred to either class or honor board hearings.
  • Participate in coordination and implementation of leadership development, orientation, commencement, move-in and move-out programs and periods which may include evening and weekend responsibilities

The Mate is responsible for:

• Vessel operator
• Maintaining equipment and the Upkeep/appearance of the vessel.
• Creating worklists for the crew and ensuring all items are completed properly in a timely manner.
• Assisting the Master to ensure crew is familiar with the use and operation of all vessel systems.
• Ensuring that crewmembers are capable of deploying safety equipment.
• Keeping the Master apprised of upcoming service intervals for lifesaving/firefighting gear.
• Updating all navigational publications and charts, for all areas in which the vessel operates.
• Assist the Master to ensure the vessel is properly cleaned and maintained.
• Assist the Master in conducting safety meetings and emergency drills
• Assist with personnel transfers and the safety of technicians.
• Create work orders and/or requisitions as needed.
• Any other duties as directed by the Master.

Requirements & Qualifications

• USCG Merchant Mariner’s Credential (MMC) with a 100-ton Mate endorsement or greater
• STCW Basic safety training
• Marine radio operator permit or GMDSS
• Radar observer unlimited
• STCW medical certificate
• RFPNW
• TWIC

MARINE AND ISLAND OPERATIONS PERSONNEL

The Marine and Island Operations Team will be responsible for safely operating, navigating, and docking the island barge, skiffs, and recreational boats, traveling between the island and Chatham Harbor. This role requires transporting cargo, equipment, and livestock to and from the island. As part of the Marine and Island Operations Team, you will provide water transportation for the island residents and guests. General laborer skills are required for the position to assist with the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of boats, docks, and island operations.

 The ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications and skills:

 General boat handling skills are required
 Experience operating power tools and equipment
 Ability to lift heavy objects
 Hardworking and reliable
 Self-motivated and ability to work with limited supervision
 Positive can-do attitude
 Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
 Experience in sport fishing and/or clamming, a plus
 Valid driver’s license with a good driving record, a must
 Employment is conditional on successfully passing drug and alcohol testing
