Duties & Responsibilities

Coordinate vessel and personnel movement within the offshore windfarm construction site with the aid of the RSL Manager in-house marine management software
Daily manifesting of personnel and cargo as per project requirements
Understanding of the maritime and shipping industries
Radio operator experience is preferred (GOC, ROC, LRC or SRC)
Fundamentals of ship operation, as well as principles in ship management (technical navigation, meteorology, meteorological and navigational systems, navigational planning)
Knowledge of cargo handling, cranage and stowage (regulations, basic maritime trade law, regulations on safety equipment and fire protection, measures in emergencies)
Awareness of Marine Medicine, Evacuation and Advanced First Aid
Assist in software-based reporting, decision making tools and tracking of vessels and personnel, observation of weather and ship movements
Examination of permits, transfers, applications, ship documents and radio activity
Database maintenance and project documentation as well as monitoring of the relevant guidelines

Education, Training & Experience

Ability to work 12-hour shifts on rotation, shore based, at our Marine Coordination center in New Bedford, MA.

The Onset Bay Center seeks a responsible Rental Staff to facilitate on-the-water activity rentals for guests at the Onset Bay Center in Onset, MA. Rental Staff oversee all aspects of rentals for Summer ‘25. The position reports to the Onset Bay Center Director.

Compensation and Schedule:
This is a seasonal, part-time summer position, 20 hours/week, June-August. Detailed schedule discussed upon hire; includes daytime WEEKEND work (approx. 10am-6pm). Salary is commensurate on experience. No employee benefits provided.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Take bookings and assist customers in preparing equipment and launching.
- Educate participants about effective paddling practices and how to safely navigate around Onset Bay during their rental.
- Follow OBC rental procedures when communicating with guests.
- Handle payments and customer service for rental participants.
- Coordinate and communicate safe practices for rentals regarding weather conditions, equipment needs, and logistics.
- Ensure a safe environment for all participants and equipment, on and off the water.
- Work with OBC senior staff to maintain the program equipment and supplies.

Qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age by June 1, 2025.Comfort with, and enthusiasm for, outdoor activities.
- Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to life 30 lbs and move boating equipment (with assistance)

Plymouth Yacht Club is currently hiring both Sailing Instructors and a 420 Head Coach to join our experienced, 12-person instructor team from June 16- Aug 17th. 420 Coach wage rate is from $22-$25 based on experience.

The Program owns a fleet of 40+ sailboats and 7 coach boats, and operates off of the PYC docks. Our classes take place in the Junior Program boathouse in TV & WiFi enabled spaces using the latest US Sailing curriculum videos and lessons. The program enrolls 170+ sailors over an 8-week period, teaching all levels and ages. Our emphasis is on seamanship, safety, skill progression and FUN as our sailors choose their path forward into racing or cruising. QUALIFICATIONS:

Assigned fishing sites include beaches, banks, piers, docks, jetties, and access points for private, charter, and head boats, including marinas, boat ramps and other points of entry to marine or estuarine waters. Head boat sampling occurs at sea. The estimates generated from this work are critically important for managing fish stocks and sustaining recreational fisheries. The incumbent will assist other MA DMF Program personnel with additional projects as needed.

Successfully complete training and pass both a survey procedures test and fish identification test.
Survey recreational anglers and collect catch information including counts, measurements, and weights of fish both harvested and released.
Begin and end each 6-hour assignment on time.

Complete, organize, and submit data and reports to supervisors in a timely manner.
Distribute outreach material while interacting with the angling public in the field.
Operate a motor vehicle to perform duties.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Outgoing and engaging personality. Individuals should be comfortable approaching and speaking with recreational anglers to obtain interviews.
Must have flexible availability and willing to work outside normal office hours (longer, earlier, later) due to tidal cycles, vessel schedules, and survey times. Ability to work any of the following 6-hr survey times: 8am-2pm, 2pm-8pm, and 11am—5pm. Most assignments occur from 8am to 8pm. Ability to work regularly on weekends and holidays (Friday is considered a weekend day). Qualified candidates must be able to work at least 16 hours each weekend.
Basic understanding of computer applications, the internet, and electronic touch-screen tablets.
Ability to work under challenging field and weather conditions: wind, rain, heat, and cold.
Ability to lift heavy fish specimens, both alive and dead.
Ability to work well independently and solve problems in the field.
Knowledge and familiarity with marine recreational fishing and fish species is a plus, but not required.
Remarks:

Must pass a survey procedures test and fish identification test following training, with at least 90% accuracy.
This position will require work on weekends, holidays and long hours.
Fisheries Surveyors will work primarily in the field from their home.
This is a seasonal contract position. Mileage is paid for all travel to and from sites.

Ability to work regularly on weekends and holidays (Friday is considered a weekend). Qualified candidates must be able to work at least 16 hours each weekend.
Basic understanding of computer applications, the internet, and electronic touch-screen tablets.
Ability to work in challenging fields and in weather conditions: wind, rain, heat, and cold.
Ability to lift heavy fish specimens, both alive and dead.
Ability to work well independently and solve problems in the field.
Knowledge and familiarity with marine recreational fishing and fish species is a plus but not required.
Remarks:

Must pass a survey procedure and fish identification tests following training, with at least 90% accuracy.
This position will require work on weekends, holidays, and long hours.
Fisheries Surveyors will work primarily in the field from their home.
This is a seasonal contract position. Mileage is paid for all travel to and from sites.
No benefits are included - except earned sick leave.
