($18.00 - $20.00/hr)

The Town’s Human Resources Department, on behalf of the Department of Natural Resources, is accepting applications for the temporary, seasonal positions of Seasonal Community Service Officer/Parking Enforcement. These are non-benefited, temporary positions that will run from approximately May/June through September/October. Full-time or part-time, with flexible schedules are available.

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age and possess the following:

Education/Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent and current Massachusetts Driver’s License required. CPR and first responder certificate desired. Applicants should have knowledge of local geography and the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays. Subject to CORI/SORI, pre-employment physical and drug test.

Responsibilities: The job consists of but not limited to: maintenance and upkeep of the kiosk parking machines, enforcement of parking regulations, general upkeep and maintenance of public properties, some light office work, issuing permits and by-law enforcement. Activities require some moderate physical effort in the performance of the job and the ability to lift up to 60lbs and be able to work in all weather conditions. Potential candidates must have the ability to work with the public, problem solve and perform multiple tasks in a stressful environment.

($18.00 - $20.00/hour)

The Town’s Human Resources Department, on behalf of the Department of Natural Resources, is accepting applications for the part-time and full-time, temporary, seasonal positions of Seasonal Launch Operators. These are non-benefited, temporary positions that will run from approximately May/June through September/October. Flexible schedules are available.

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age and possess the following:

Education/Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent, current Massachusetts Drivers License, CPR and first responder certificate, completion of a USCG and Commonwealth of Massachusetts approved boating safety course. Possession of a Merchant Mariners License is preferred. A USCG Limited Master’s License and TWIC card is required and applicant must have the ability to swim. Subject to CORI/SORI, pre-employment physical and drug testing.

Responsibilities: Seasonal Launch Operators’ responsibilities and requirements include but are not limited to: safe and timely transportation of boaters to and from their boats; good public relations skills; general maintenance/upkeep of Town property; ability to operate a vessel during nighttime hours; ability to work nights, weekends and holidays; and moderate physical effort required in the performance of the job. Must be able to work in all weather conditions.

SEASONAL DEPUTY HARBORMASTER/SHELLFISH CONSTABLE POSITIONS
($18.00 - $20.00/hour)

The Town’s Human Resources Department, on behalf of the Department of Natural Resources, is accepting applications for full-time and part-time temporary, seasonal positions of Deputy Harbormaster/Shellfish Constable. These are non-benefited, temporary positions that will run from approximately May/June through September/October.

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age and possess the following:

Education/Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent, current Massachusetts Drivers License, CPR and first responder certificate, completion of a USCG and Commonwealth of Massachusetts approved boating safety course. Possession of a Merchant Mariners License is preferred. Subject to CORI/SORI, pre-employment physical and drug testing.

Seasonal Deputy Harbormasters assist our Natural Resource Officers in: patrolling the waterways and beaches; monitoring boating, shell fishing and fishing; emergency calls from boaters; maintaining the Town's boats, docks and moorings; operating the pump out boat; etc. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from our Natural Research Officers while gaining hands on experience.
Requirements include but are not limited to: experience in boat operation; knowledge of local geography; ability to work nights, weekends and holidays; ability to operate a pump-out boat and facility; ability to maintain and operate the seasonal office; light office work; upkeep of public docks, access areas and facilities and knowledge of boating and shellfish regulations. The job also requires moderate physical effort and the ability to lift up to 75lbs. Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
