The Onset Bay Center seeks a motivated Launch Driver to assist in the delivery of on-the-water and outdoor recreation programs at the Onset Bay Center in Onset, MA. The Launch Driver will assist Bay Explorers, Sailing, and partner programs for Summer ‘26. The position reports to the Onset Bay Center Director.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Operate our Oldport 26 Launch boat, Bufflehead, transporting staff and participants to various locations around Onset Bay
- Function as a safety vessel, when needed, assisting in providing first aid and transportation to participants who need to leave their groups momentarily
- Understand and effectively communicate safe boating practices to staff and participants while operating the launch
- Practice safe docking and communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and town harbormasters and employees on the pier
- Ensure a safe environment for all participants and equipment, on and off the water
- Work with OBC senior staff to maintain the program equipment.
- Coordinate and communicate with OBC senior staff & instructors as well as program partners regarding weather conditions, equipment needs, and logistics.

Qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age by June 1, 2026.
- Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift 30 lbs and move boating equipment (with assistance)
- Strong communications skills including comfort with learners of all ages and strong communication & interpersonal skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (training provided)
- A CORI check will be required.
- Knowledge of Buzzards Bay, watershed ecology, and familiarity with local and regional environmental issues preferred
- USCG Limited Masters License (also known as USCG Launch Operators License) (paid training and course completion provided)
- Must meet the REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 120 days underway experience on like vessels (time acquired since age 16), 90 of those days in the last 3 years
- Physical, drug test, eye exam
- Certificate from an approved Safe Boating Course
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Card)

Compensation & Schedule:
This is a seasonal, part or full-time summer position. Detailed schedule will be discussed with OBC senior staff, 20-40 hour/week. Hourly wage is $18-$22/hr and is commensurate on experience and qualifications. No employee benefits are provided.

Onset Bay Center seeks an energetic and responsible Sailing Instructor to lead sailing camp programs for youth ages 8-15, as well as adult and family programs on day, evenings, and weekends for Summer ‘26!

Sailing Instructors receive training and will work as a team under the guidance of the Waterfront Manager and Onset Bay Center Director, using both keelboat and dinghy sailing equipment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Implement daily lesson plans and course setting based on participants’ abilities and ages (beginner sailing) on our RS Quests, RS Zests, Hobie Getaway, and Drascombe Gig sailboats.
- Assist with participant arrival and pick up.
- Instruct participants in sailing, seamanship, and maritime skills.
- Lead by example, set the tone for positive youth development.
- Communicate effectively with co-instructors, junior instructors, and supervisors to ensure operations run smoothly.

Qualifications:

- Lifeguard OR Basic Water Rescue (Am. Red Cross)
- Current First Aid, CPR, and AED for adults and children
