• Develop proficiency of all phases of shipboard safety and security procedures, and knowledge of the location and use of all firefighting, safety and security equipment. Emergency procedures to include; Emergency Passenger Management, Fire, Medical Emergency, Man Overboard, Anchoring, Flooding and Abandon Ship.
• Responsible for getting underway, handling lines, and assisting in vessel operations in all weather conditions, as directed by the First Mate.
• Assist in the safe boarding and disembarking of passengers, including gangway lifting/operation, and scanning of passenger tickets.
• Perform cleaning and custodial tasks of the vessel, including maintenance tasks as assigned and minor repairs and rounds as directed.
• Perform lookout duties while underway, including watching for other vessels and monitoring the waterway for potentially unsafe conditions.
• Monitor passenger & crewmember safety issues on the boat. Ensure that safety equipment is utilized and appropriate guidelines are followed for all tasks involving physical risk or hazards.
• Participate in meetings, training, drills and safety audits as required by USCG & company policy
• Work to achieve the highest levels of performance, hospitality and professionalism.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks that includes moving/lifting up to 50lbs, continuous walking and/or standing, and tolerate exposure to all types of weather.
• Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the USCG including but not limited to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident/incident testing.
• Previous marine experience preferred, but not required as training will be provided.
