Key Responsibilities:

Respond to crew emergencies or last-minute changes, including after-hours support on a rotating basis.

Requirements:
3+ years of experience in vessel crewing, preferably with US Flag operations.

Strong understanding of USCG, STCW, and MARAD regulatory requirements.

Familiarity with union dispatch procedures (e.g., MEBA, SIU, AMO).

Proficient in crewing software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders.

· Responsible for the proper operation of a wide variety of complex machinery and equipment in the processing plant and fishing vessels.

The Regional Boiler Inspector must be willing and able to travel to WIN Waste Plants as part of the New England Regional Maintenance crew (NERM) in and out of New England as directed as part of the NERM maintenance crew inspecting boilers, feed chutes, expellers and APC components. The Regional Boiler Inspector will assist the Regional Maintenance crew with any major projects or boiler component overhauls.

Essential Functions

This position requires extensive travel, approximately 75-100% of the time, among the plants in the region; must be available to work plant outage schedules, day or night, and 12-hour shifts.
Identify problem areas in the boiler and its auxiliaries through visual and NDE inspections. Work with the Regional Maintenance Manager, and Crew to repair problem areas.
Compile and analyze NDE inspection reports on NDE done on the feed chutes, drop off chutes, boiler pressure parts, SDA's and fabric filters.
Assist the R-Stamp QC Manager with the management of the R-Stamp program including putting together complete R-1 packages and Code material organization, ordering and tracking.
Work as part of the Regional Maintenance crew as needed on projects and repairs.
Responds to call-in repair emergencies
Follows safety procedures, corrects safety & environmental hazards & environmental hazards & reports to appropriate supervisor
Complete training programs within time frame prescribed by plant training coordinator

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Familiar with reading and comprehending welding procedures related to SMAW, GTAW and GMAW

Thoroughly and promptly investigates any accidents or near misses in conjunction with management team to ensure that any unsafe practices or conditions are addressed and eliminated immediately.

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED (accredited)
Bachelor's degree, Associate degree or equivalent is desirable
Two years working in a power plant environment as PO or comparable position, or 5 years related experience which includes training in a power plant environment.
Skills, experience, and knowledge sufficient to acquire ASME QRO Provisional license. (ASME: American Society of Mechanical Engineers)
For all Massachusetts facility's, a 2nd Class Engineers license is required.
Math skills sufficient to complete required job functions
Knowledge and understanding of the operation and control of a steam generating power plant
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Working knowledge of PC operations.
Must be able to work overtime, odd and unscheduled hours as required and share on-call duties
This position requires the ability to work a swing/rotating shift.
