Yacht & Boat Bid Sale

Please carefully read the following information.

Bid Sale Viewing Information

2025 Online Bidding is available through Monday, November 24, 2025.

The list of available vessels is divided into sail and power boats.  Each of those lists indicate where the boats are available for viewing.

The boats located at our storage facility within the confines of Joint Base Cape Cod will be available for viewing only on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 1000 to 1600.

The boats located at other facilities will be available for viewing by appointment only.  Please contact the broker listed to make an appointment.

The High Bidders will have the option to inspect the boat on which they bid before committing to their purchase.

The Joint Base Cape Cod storage facility can be reached ONLY through the GIBBONS GATE of Joint Base Cape Cod off of Route 151 in Falmouth.   Finding the gate can be confusing as Simpkins Road, which leads to the gate, begins where the towns of Sandwich, Mashpee, and Falmouth intersect.

Please note: Common GPS navigational tools such as Google Maps or Apple Maps will  show you that the fastest route for reaching the Gibbons Gate is by entering Joint Base Cape Cod through one of the other gates.  YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ACCESS THROUGH ANY OTHER GATE.  ACCESS IS AVAILABLE VIA THE GIBBONS GATE ONLY.  The Gibbons Gate is located at the end of Simpkins Road.

From Route 151 in Falmouth, turn north onto Sandwich Road. After 1.2 miles, turn left onto Simpkins Road.  Once at the gate, follow the security officer's instructions.

Yacht & Boat Bid Sale Rules
AVAILABLE FOR BIDDING

All available boats are published online.  All bids must be made via the online form.  Bids by email, fax, or in person will not be accepted.

Boats that are listed with a specific "Lease Through" date will be sold via a Charter Agreement with Option to Purchase, with the purchase happening on a date subsequent to the date shown.  You may submit a bid for one of these vessels or you can simply contact the broker listed to negotiate the charter-to-purchase of the vessel.

LISTED PRICES

The Academy publishes the listed prices simply to put all bidders on a level playing field, informing every bidder of the Academy’s estimated retail value of the vessel.  Bid whatever amount is appropriate for you.

The price listed with each vessel is either (1) the value determined by the Donor’s surveyor, or (2) the value determined by Massachusetts Maritime Academy based upon the boat’s current condition and in accordance with BUC and NADA valuation guides.  The listed price is one a buyer might expect to pay were they to purchase the vessel from an ordinary retail boat seller.  Although the vessels presented here for bidding do have an undisclosed reserve (the minimum amount for which the boat will be sold), the listed price is not the reserve.

NO WARRANTIES OR GUARANTEES EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED

Boats are sold "AS IS - WHERE IS".  The Academy has made NO representation as to the condition of the items for sale.

THIS IS NOT AN ABSOLUTE SALE

We retain the right to reject any and all bids.  RESERVE prices are in effect on all boats.  Sales are subject to reserve prices as stated above.  Should no bid surpass the RESERVE price on a particular boat, the highest bidder will be contacted and the RESERVE price revealed in an invitation for the highest bidder to increase their bid beyond the reserve.

High Bidders will be contacted on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, with instructions for completing their purchase.

Boats must be paid in full at least three days prior to pick up and must be made via wire transfer, ACH transfer, or credit card.  Instructions for payment will be provided to the highest bidder.  Massachusetts Sales Tax of 6.25% will be assessed and added to the purchase price of every vessel.

Please note:  Boats are stored within the confines of a U.S. military base.  Arrangements must be made via the Academy (the point of contact and access chaperone) at least 72 hours in advance of scheduled access.  Once the online bid sale is complete, high bidders and one guest (i.e., family member, surveyor, mechanic) are required to provide their driver’s license information and SSN to the Academy in order to be cleared by the Department of Defense to enter JBCC.  NO member of the public will be allowed entry to JBCC without prior federal approval and a scheduled appointment.
