Rewarding connections with the academy

Massachusetts Maritime Academy corporate partnerships enhance academic excellence, advance workforce readiness, and create lasting impact for both industry partners and cadets.  They create strong bonds between the private sector and the Academy and often are led and facilitated by Academy alumni. 

Here are some of the categories of corporate partnerships:

  • COOPS & Career Pathways – Companies engage directly with cadets by providing hands-on learning experiences that build early talent pipelines and prepare students for real-world careers. 

Career Services

  • Corporate Scholarships – Industry-sponsored scholarships provide financial support while connecting cadets with mentorship, internships, and possible future employment opportunities, while building crucial  workforce pipelines.

Create a Scholarship

  • Branding & Sponsorship Opportunities – Increasing visibility through event sponsorships, program support, and naming opportunities that showcase a commitment to maritime and STEM education, as well as creating corporate brand recognition.

  • In-Kind Donations – Strategic contributions of equipment, technology, and resources help keep Academy programs and learning environments aligned with industry standards and innovation.

Philanthropy

Corporate Partnerships are a cornerstone of much of what we teach at the Academy.  Our cadets participate in internships and co-ops and upon graduation join companies to continue to contribute.  You can show your support of MMA and our cadets by:

  • Naming a classroom or laboratory space
  • Setting up an endowed scholarship fund in your organization’s name supporting the major(s) that can help grow your company.
  • Fund cooperative and experiential education for our cadets.  
  • Donate software, engines, and other tools or help fund new technologies at MMA to help educate the leaders of the industries we serve. 
  • Support the training ship

Cooperative Education Opportunity

A partnership between the Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA), employer, and student. MMA prepares students for the working world; students apply what they learn in the classroom and labs in the workplace; employers have access to a wealth of talent who are eager and motivated to work in a variety of different ways. Students return from their experience with knowledge and experience that can be shared in the classroom.

Career Fair

Each October and April, the Academy hosts a Career Fair on campus. With an average of 125 employers, it is an excellent opportunity for businesses to showcase their companies and inform our students about future opportunities.
