Maritime Simulator Operator Job description:
Major Responsibilities:
- Operate navigational simulators during training and research projects
- Develop training scenarios in conjunction with customers and instructors
- Assist instructors in training and interface with students as required

Requirements:
- Operate simulators during training evolution to provide realistic training environment and meet training objectives of course
- Operate simulators during research projects and assist in compilation of test results and report preparations
- Develop and update simulator scenarios as required by course objectives and customer needs
- Test simulator exercises, databases, and hydrodynamic models as assigned by operations manager
- Maintain inventory of scenarios in system database as well as published copies
- Maintain and update various logs as assigned by Head, Operations
- Support and carryout all duties in accordance with organization’s Quality Management System
- Other duties as assigned

Essential Functions:
- Possess a working knowledge of shipboard terminology and procedures
- Able to multitask and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment where changing priorities can potentially create stressful situations
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing through a variety of media
- Make both one-on-one and group presentations
- Self-start and prioritize
- Work and converse comfortably with others
- React and respond rapidly to changing customer requirements

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor degree from an accredited college program and hold a USCG Third Mate License
- Military service or equivalent experience may be substituted for the above
- Six months of seagoing experience in licensed capacity preferred
