Sailing Coaches - Part and Full Time, Great Pay, Flexible Schedules!

Plymouth Yacht Club is currently hiring for ALL Sailing Instructor positions. If you’re not feeling ready to commit to a full-time position, no problem… we have part time, high-paying openings IDEAL for candidates who have multiple summer obligations. Join our current team of experienced, seasoned instructors; most of our staff have been teaching for 3+ years and return every year. We value our new instructors for contributing new ideas and ways to level-up our teaching.

Pay rates are excellent: $17.50 hr for 1st year Instructors up to $22/hr for Instructors with 2+years of experience. We provide “gas pay” for commutes over 20 miles per day. Extra pay can also be made by teaching Adult Lessons.

Bonus 1: We provide free CPR and First aid certification prior to our Program start.
Bonus 2: We will refund 1/2 the fee for your 2024 US Sailing Level 1 or 2 course, upon completion of your employment in 2024, and refund the other half if you return in 2025.

Responsibilities include:
• Provide sailing instruction and mentoring of students, support of Lead Instructors.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, including enforcing safety rules.
• Maintain and care for all sailing equipment, coach boats and program facilities.
• Properly rig and de-rig equipment and follow reporting procedures for all issues.
• Act as a role-model for assistant coaches, promoting professionalism.
• Report to Program Director for job responsibilities; Club Manager for employee issues.

Qualifications:

Coaches & Instructors must hold a valid US Sailing Level 1 or higher, First Aid and CPR certifications, NASBLA and SafeSport certification. Have familiarity with the boats in our fleet: Power: 18’ Brigs, 18’ Boston Whalers. Sail: Prams, Optis, Club 420s & RS Quests.
