**SUMMER** Launch Operator

The launch operator is under the immediate supervision of the Waterfront Captain and the Club Manager.
He/She must be at least 18 years of age (as required by U.S. Coast Guard for licensing). He/She must acquire,
prior to hiring, a launch operator’s license to operate a launch carrying more than SEVEN persons. He/She
must have first aid and AED training and strong swimming ability. He/She must submit to all drug/alcohol
examinations as now required by Federal Regulations (46 CFR).
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
A. To shuttle launch service members and guests between their boats and shore.
B. To handle all visiting yachts
C. To keep launches clean and in good working order
D. To help minimize damage to property and personal injury of all boater in the harbor
E. To perform light maintenance tasks
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Safe operations of launches
2. Morning preparation and evening shutdown of launches
3. Cleaning of launches
4. Transporting members and guests to and from their boats
5. Collecting fees from transient boats
6. Keeping records of open moorings and return boats
7. Selling ice and notifying supervisor of need to order more
8. Assisting members with ice and bags
9. Keeping accurate log on each launch
10. Check for launch service membership
11. Help with evening Colors
12. Account for all cash transactions
APPEARANCE:
1. Uniform shirt with PYC logo provided
2. Tan pants (Long or Short)
3. Proper footwear (boat shoes or sneaker with non – skid soles.
a. No Black shoes
4. Foul weather gear available as needed
