We have immediate openings for full-time or part-time qualified First Mates. This role is not scheduled on rotations and does not provide housing; applicants must be based or plan to be based locally in Rhode Island.

Job Description: Mates aboard our high-speed catamaran ferries assist the Master in the day-to-day operation of the boat, ensuring that all operations are conducted within our company's safety, security, operations, and vessel management policies and procedures. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: managing crew, performing vessel maintenance, and ensuring that all operations are conducted within our company's safety, security, operations, and vessel management policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
USCG 100GRT Master’s License, FA/CPR/AED. Radar Observer Unlimited and practical radar experience is a plus. Mechanical know-how is a plus; the ability to assist in performing vessel maintenance is required. This position will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including crew management, vessel maintenance, and administration of a variety of company policies.

Located in Quonset Point, North Kingstown, Rhode Island Fast Ferry is seeking full-time qualified Captains. This role is not scheduled on rotations and does not provide housing; applicants must be within reasonable driving distance to Quonset Point, Rhode Island.

Our Captains are responsible for the professional delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality service and operations to our customers and their team onboard. This role will oversee operations aboard our 320-passenger catamaran, 110 ft. in length, powered by two MTU-4000 diesel engines driving twin propellers with MDI trim tab ride-control. Captains are responsible for crew management, day-to-day operations and maintenance of the vessel, ensuring that all operations are conducted within our Company's safety, security, operations, and vessel management policies and procedures. With the support of our shoreside team, you will be responsible for and the manager of all activity onboard.

Qualifications
• USCG 100GRT Master’s License
• Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
• CPR/AED First Aid Certification
• Radio Operators Permit
• Experience handling twin-propeller-driven catamarans
• Requires engine mechanical ability
• Pre-Employment drug testing is required
• Radar Observer with ARPA, STCW and experience working with MTU engines is a plus.
• Captains are responsible for all daily vessel maintenance.
