BWT is looking to hire a Field Service Engineer to service systems in the Northeastern US. The position will be based out of the Marlborough, MA office, however work will mostly be performed on customer sites within the region with roughly 20-30% overnight travel.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for service maintenance work on existing and new plants. The engineer will be working on a multitude of systems including the following technologies: Filtration, Ion Exchange, UV, Reverse Osmosis (RO), EDI, Ozone, WFI and Pure Steam. The engineer will be required to interface with end users and customers. Candidate must have excellent communication skills and ability to resolve issues on the spot. Most importantly the candidate must enjoy the satisfaction of maintaining equipment and take pride in their work.

Job Functions:

· Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on water treatment equipment including electro-mechanical repairs along with replacements of parts.

· Troubleshoot issues remotely over the phone and at the customer's site for both electrical and mechanical questions

· Commission new systems at customer sites including completing detailed commissioning documentation and reporting.

· Provide training of site personnel in the operation and maintenance of the equipment

· Maintain internal documentation and submit external reports to customers

· Perform instrument calibrations

Qualifications:

· 1-2 years’ experience in working with electro-mechanical equipment including pumps, valves, motors etc.

· Must have the ability to read and interpret basic electrical and mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and the ability to discuss

· Water treatment industry experience is strongly preferred, but not essential as training will be provided for the right candidate

Summary

The Lead Power Plant Technician is responsible for operating the combined cycle generating facility and power plant equipment with minimal guidance or assistance. Responsibilities

Operate the combined cycle generating facility and power plant equipment with minimal guidance or assistance.
Keeps management fully informed of plant operations, unusual conditions, and faulty equipment.
Operate power plant equipment through control room interfaces or locally.
Takes readings and maintains records and logs.
Records equipment problems on work notifications/requests and documents maintenance actions taken.
Communicate and respond to all outside entities including but not limited to Commercial Operations, NStar, and ISO.
Assists in developing operating procedures.
Uses facility operating procedures to operate equipment and ensure equipment is operated within acceptable parameters.
Opens and closes valves as required for proper system operation and mechanical isolation.
Opens and closes circuit breakers up to 480 volts as required for proper system operation and electrical isolation.
Operate generator breakers manually, if required 115kV disconnects.
Assist in troubleshooting plant control systems.
Understands and complies with all regulatory procedures and facility safety programs. Follow all plant environmental permits.

Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
Holds an active Massachusetts Second Class Engineer's License.
Holds an active Massachusetts Grade 2 Industrial Wastewater Treatment License.
Minimum of 6 years of experience operating equipment including gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, heat recovery steam generator, high pressure boilers, air compressors, water treatment equipment, and other auxiliary equipment.
Demonstrates knowledge of the relationship between plant operations and energy markets.

Preferred Qualifications

Physical Requirements

Position Description

Under minimum supervision, you will operate, maintain, and repair any heat generation equipment, facilities, and auxiliary and related equipment within the BNL Central Steam Facility. You may also be required to assign, direct, or check the work of others. personnel in connection with assigned responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate equipment in a safe and conscientious manner following safety rules, procedures, and actively participating in safety programs, such as confined space, lock-out/tag-out, etc.
Maintain records and logbooks, of rounds and inspections performed.
Operate, monitor, and secure boilers and balance of plant equipment. Recognize abnormal conditions and take corrective action.
Perform routine and demand maintenance and repairs as necessary to keep the plant operating at optimal efficiency.
Perform daily chemical test analysis of all operating systems such as boilers, water softeners, feedwater, and condensate systems.
Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual planned maintenance on boilers and auxiliary equipment as assigned.
Assist in maintaining a high level of housekeeping, inventory, and maintenance of tools.
It is understood that the above list of duties is not all inclusive of every duty performed by this position but does include the major elements in the job.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Requires a minimum of 7-years prior experience as an operator/watch stander in the operation and maintenance of high-pressure steam plants and plant controls.
In lieu of above a Bachelor of Science in marine engineering or similar technical degree; or completion of US Navy, multi-year union, or similar technically accredited program leading to a recognized certificate or license for the operation and maintenance of high-pressure steam plants and plant control systems.
Ability to learn and maintain a thorough understanding of the operation and control of the boilers including computer control systems, instrumentation & controls, safety systems, water testing, functioning of the water softener, feed water pumps, condensate pumps, deaerators, fuel oil transfer pumps, air compressors, and steam pumps.

**SUMMER** Launch Driver Newport Yacht Club

Responsibilities:

- Operate and navigate Launch Vessel in various water conditions
- Ensure the safety of passengers and crew members on board
- Maintain and inspect the boat's mechanical systems and equipment
- Perform routine maintenance checks
- Monitor weather conditions and make decisions regarding safe navigation
- Communicate effectively with passengers and provide exceptional customer service
- Manage the loading and unloading of passengers and cargo
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations

Requirements:

- Valid Boat USCG Captain's license or Launch Operators License
- Proven boat handling experience as a Boat Captain or Launch Driver
- Strong Customer Service Skills
- Familiarity with maritime laws, regulations, and safety procedures
- Physical fitness to perform duties such as lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods of time, and being able to work in various weather conditions.

**SUMMER** Launch Operator/Fuel Dock Attendant

Location: Harwich Port, MA

Transport customers back and forth to their moorings on a 19' outboard-powered launch. Move customer's boats back and forth to the fuel dock. Fuel/wash boats, pump holding tanks and complete other misc. tasks as needed. Assist customers with bringing gear to and from their boats. Daily check of docks and boats in slips. Full/part-time and weekday/weekend shifts available. Must already posess a USCG launch operator's license or higher or will have license in hand to start working. Position available in mid-May if desired helping out with general boatyard work, transitioning to launch/operator/fuel dock as the season progressed. Work available through Labor Day weekend at least. $27/hour plus tips.
