WIN Waste Innovations is currently looking for an Operations Superintendent who will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facility in accordance with all Company policies and standards, under the direction of the Operations Manager or Plant Manager.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible for directing and supervising operations staff and other personnel to ensure the facility is operating and maintained in a clean, safe and efficient manner
Maintains and enforces Company policies and procedures, environmental compliance, as well as safety and health requirements
Trains shift personnel in safety procedures and equipment use, plant operating procedures, environmental standards and compliance
Assists in the creation of plant training programs consistent with corporate policies, procedures and requirements, ensuring continued progress in the programs by shift personnel
Assists the Operations Manager/Plant Manager in developing operational strategies to enhance reliability and efficiency
Responsible for the enforcement and administration of all programs requiring a permit
Makes daily inspections of buildings, machinery and equipment; inspects ongoing activities for safety and environmental compliance, and for adherence to standard operating procedures
Performs administrative functions such as; conducting performance appraisals, completing disciplinary forms, accident and equipment damage reports, reviews and corrects time records, documentation of attendance and tardiness, and maintains employee performance event logs
Creates work requests through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Develops and maintains plant operating data and reports, plant operating and emergency procedures
Serves as management's representative during periods when upper management is off-site
Writes reports, business correspondence, and operating procedures as required or directed by facility operations
Decisively and effectively directs personnel during all situations
Completes the Corporate and Plant Training Programs within the timeframe prescribed
Fosters and promotes a culture of teamwork between operational staff and all other plant personnel
Ensures the facility is operated to meet or exceed production demands at minimum costs
Ensures that the facility and all personnel always operate safely and promotes an environment whereby safety is a priority
Ensures staff follows standard safety procedures, corrects safety and environmental hazards
Reads, understands, and applies information such as, lockout/tagout procedures, safety rules, job hazard analyses, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Communicates clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing, using the intercom system, two-way radio, or face to face
Anticipates typical problems, identifies potential or recurring problems, and takes appropriate action
Troubleshoots equipment and assists in diagnosing problem areas
Operates other equipment including, but not limited to, industrial forklifts, man-lifts, skid steer type loaders, and other equipment
Thoroughly and promptly investigates any accidents or near misses in conjunction with management team to ensure that any unsafe practices or conditions are addressed and eliminated immediately
Responds and reports to work during off hours when emergency assistance or repairs are required
Travels to other facilities within the company when additional support is required
Assumes increased, and lesser levels of responsibility when required or requested
Assists with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent, additional education would be plus
Five years of Supervisor experience in power plant or manufacturing in a comparable role
Knowledge and understanding of the operation, maintenance and control of a steam generating power plant
Proficient in the use of safety equipment, including but not limited to all required OSHA personal and fire protection equipment
Maintains all licenses as required by local, state, federal, environmental and/or health/safety regulatory agencies
Skills, experience, and knowledge enough to acquire ASME QRO provisional license
For all Massachusetts facility's, a 2nd Class Engineers license is required and the applicant must be able to demonstrate the skills, experience and knowledge to sit for a 1st Class Engineers license.

Overview

Rhode Island Energy, a PPL Company, is hiring a System Operator for our Distribution Control Center department in Lincoln RI.

This position requires a high level of personal commitment to deliver excellent performance in monitoring, switching and restoring the substation, sub-transmission and distribution high voltage electric systems in Rhode Island. Professional communication and the ability to analyze trouble while under stress is expected.

Responsibilities

Consolidate information from a variety of sources such as Energy Management Systems alarms, switching orders, field reports and Outage Management System to accurately validate, analyze and report outage duration, number of customers impacted, cause and circumstances
Direct the sectionalizing of faulted equipment and return customers to service.
Analyze normal / abnormal operating conditions.
Reconfigure the power system so that equipment operates within its rating.
Initiate emergency procedures when the system is in distress.
Be proactive in communicating outage status to various stakeholders such as operations and executive management, corporate communication, customers, engineering, municipal and regulatory staff.
Analyze trouble orders, establish restoration priorities. and dispatch personnel as required.
Receive and respond to police, fire, customer calls as needed.
Complete control center logs and reports
Demonstrate proficiency in applicable Clearance and Control procedures
Ensure accuracy and completeness of outage data in Outage Management System.
Ability to work rotating a rotating 12 hour shift schedule.
Work reasonable amounts of planned and unplanned overtime
Assist in training and development of new System Operators
Take a leadership role in the response to and restoration of faulted equipment and customer outages.
Demonstrate leadership and assist management in decision making when the system is in distress.
Able to work both independently and in a team environment.

Qualifications

System Operator I

4-year Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience on a year-for-year basis

This job requires an experienced powerhouse operator that has experience running, maintaining, and repairing CAT diesel engines. This position will oversee the operation of power generating equipment, including boilers, generators, or reactors. Ensures the regular monitoring, repair, and maintenance of power plant and auxiliary equipment such as pumps, fans, compressors, and condensers. Finally, the successful candidate will be a team player with the ability to handle deadline driven environments.

The successful candidate:

The Seasonal Powerhouse Operator must have previous powerhouse operator experience, paralleling control system experience, (ComAp, Dief, Woodward) and switch board experience. They must be self-directed, well organized and comfortable in a diverse living and working environment. In addition, they must be willing to work in a remote location under, at times, challenging conditions

Key Responsibilities:

Oversees the operation of power plant equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems.
Controls and maintains auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, fans, compressors, condensers, feed water pumps, filters, to supply water, fuel, lubricants, air, or auxiliary power.
Regulates equipment operations and conditions based on instrument data from controllers.
Starting or stopping generators, auxiliary pumping equipment, or other power plant equipment when necessary.

Ensures regular maintenance of equipment, such as generators, pumps, or compressors, to prevent failure or deterioration is scheduled and completed.

Places standby emergency electrical generators online in emergencies and monitors the temperature, output, and lubrication of the system.

THE WORK ENVIRONMENT is weather dependent: ranging from warm and sunny to cold, windy and wet. Working outdoors in a remote environment is not an experience for everyone, and candidates should understand their limitations. NATURE & HOURS OF WORK: The season runs from May to August. Hours and days of work are entirely dependent upon the Alaska Department of Fish & Game’s announced fishing openings, which are determined by pre-/mid-season predictions and actual fish movement. While we can't guarantee any definite number of hours, when the fishers are fishing, we are buying - this requires working on a shifting, tidal schedule and can run anywhere from nothing to more than sixteen hours per day, seven days a week.

LIVING CONDITIONS: Our seafood processing facilities are a very remote part in Alaska. Housing – will have own room but shared bathroom facility. There are no health care options readily accessible. There is no cellphone signal and limited internet available. Communication is very limited.

Responsible for applying technical knowledge and practical concepts, processes, and methods related to technical systems and components. The Opportunity:

-Will perform detailed Ship-check surveys of vessels under the guidance of a Senior Team Lead.

-Coordinate and interface with other Disciplines, Designers, and Engineers to develop complete drawing packages as related to Habitability Installation, Design and Modification.

-Prepare clear, accurate and complete drawings using practical design knowledge and Autodesk applications to include AutoCAD.

-Develop detailed design elements using information from various sources which may include ship checks, vendor drawings, catalog data, engineering sketches, reference drawings and input from other disciplines.

Qualifications:
Required:

-Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and active DOD Secret security clearance
-AUTOCAD experience
-2 years experience in the design and drafting for repairs or alterations on U.S. Navy ships or related commercial shipbuilding design, operations, and maintenance working in any of the following:

-Primary point of contact for bid requests from general contractors
-Assign bid/estimate numbers and maintain estimate log
-Prepare weekly bid list and distribute to sub-contractors and vendors
-Coordinate with general contractor bid sites and download appropriate bid documents
-Manage internal and external FTP sites to ensure documents are up to date

The Senior Maintenance Technician will provide comprehensive maintenance, repair and service for facilities, utilities, systems and equipment (FUSE) at the Framingham cGMP manufacturing facility. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, advanced installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, testing, and documentation of maintenance activities. Experience working within FDA regulated environments (cGMP) and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) guidelines are required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) are required.

This is a second shift position and requires a self-starter with the ability to work independently. The Senior Maintenance Technician must be able to provide a wide range of support for both utility systems and process equipment during production activities. Shift schedule is Monday through Thursday, work hours are 2pm-12:30am (4 day, 10 hour shift). This position is based in our Framingham location.

Responsibilities:
- Routine and complex preventive maintenance and repair on a variety of process equipment, building systems, central utilities and facility components and structures in compliance with cGMP policies and procedures.
- In-depth and detailed maintenance work including installing, operating, and maintaining utility systems and equipment that support facility operations. These include HVAC systems, building management systems, chillers, boilers, emergency generators, compressed air, process gas distribution, pure water, WFI and clean steam systems.
- Support the installation, startup and maintenance of cGMP manufacturing process and support equipment, including but not limited to incubators, bioreactors, filtration equipment, filling equipment, controlled-temperature storage equipment, etc.
- Oversee outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is performed and documented in compliance with cGMP policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all in-house and vendor work activities are performed following EH&S guidelines.
- Rotating on call responsibilities to provide emergency support on an as needed basis. 

Qualifications:

Educational and training requirements:
- Massachusetts Grade II Industrial Wastewater license (Required)
- Post-secondary degree in a technical field or a technical trade school degree preferred.
- One or more of the following preferred:
*Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician
*Massachusetts Journeyman Plumber
*Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician
*EPA Refrigerant Recovery Type I, II, III or Universal Certification
*Massachusetts Fireman 2nd Class License

 Experience and skill requirement:
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a maintenance technician or equivalent role
- Experience working within biotech, pharmaceutical environment or other regulated environment required. GMP preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge and practical experience in instrumentation, manufacturing equipment, building mechanical systems, emergency backup power equipment, including:
- Biological and chemical waste management.
- Lock out/tag out program.
- Ability to understand and comprehend utility and system drawings.
- Working knowledge of automation software, PLC controllers, electrical motors, variable speed drives, pneumatic and gas systems.
- Understanding of qualification and/or validation of facility equipment and utilities.
- cGMP documentation - Facilities documentation (work orders, equipment files, calibrations, developing SOPs) and QA systems (CAPAs, deviations, change controls)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to record maintenance work activities
