Position Summary
You will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with both
prospective and existing customers. Your primary objective will be to promote and

The VP of Technical Services is responsible for managing the technical services department of our organization, which supports vessel operations by leading the vessel engineering, conversion, refit, new construction, and new technology integration in the company. The VP of Technical Services will be responsible for managing this department and reporting to executive-level leadership on budgets, schedules, and risks associated with the operational fleet, new vessel acquisition, and new technology application within the organization. The VP of Technical Services will lead a department of 12 individuals comprised of Port Engineers, Project Managers, ETO’s, and project support team members. A high degree of leadership with a passion for the maritime industry is critical. The position will report directly to the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) as the division's leader. Holistic leadership and management of the team with constant communication with the CTO is expected.

Essential functions:

Utilize functional expertise gained through direct industry experience to assess the organization's operational and functional baseline and critical components to identify areas of opportunity in present operations and evolving technologies.
Working with senior managers and executives to determine technical inadequacies and/or deficiencies within the fleet that affect the effectiveness of the operation.

Responsibilities

Consolidate information from a variety of sources such as Energy Management Systems alarms, switching orders, field reports and Outage Management System to accurately validate, analyze and report outage duration, number of customers impacted, cause and circumstances
Direct the sectionalizing of faulted equipment and return customers to service.
Analyze normal / abnormal operating conditions.

The successful candidate:

The Seasonal Powerhouse Operator must have previous powerhouse operator experience, paralleling control system experience, (ComAp, Dief, Woodward) and switch board experience. Key Responsibilities:

Oversees the operation of power plant equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems.

THE WORK ENVIRONMENT is weather dependent: ranging from warm and sunny to cold, windy and wet. Working outdoors in a remote environment is not an experience for everyone, and candidates should understand their limitations. People who struggle with mobility should consider employment in another department or a different industry.

NATURE & HOURS OF WORK: The season runs from May to August. Hours and days of work are entirely dependent upon the Alaska Department of Fish & Game’s announced fishing openings, which are determined by pre-/mid-season predictions and actual fish movement. While we can't guarantee any definite number of hours, when the fishers are fishing, we are buying - this requires working on a shifting, tidal schedule and can run anywhere from nothing to more than sixteen hours per day, seven days a week.

LIVING CONDITIONS: Our seafood processing facilities are a very remote part in Alaska. Housing – will have own room but shared bathroom facility. There are no health care options readily accessible. There is no cellphone signal and limited internet available. Communication is very limited.

• Work with team members to meet the facilities established safety, environmental, operating, and maintenance goals and objectives. Respond to abnormal operating situations in a safe and environmentally conscious manner.
• Perform operational activities required to support start-up, shutdown, and normal operation of plant equipment and systems.
