Overview:

Great Eastern Group is actively hiring mates and engineers to work aboard our 4 Training Support Vessels (TSV’s) which deploy in support of Carrier Strike Group Four training and readiness, based out of Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Positions can be both full time or temporary fill-in work if desired.

Mates will be responsible for assisting in the general upkeep of the TSV while in port, which includes painting, cargo, crew training, navigation prep work and other vessel maintenance. Additionally, mates will stand a navigational watch underway and will report to the Chief Mate to assist in target launch and recovery, along with various other training exercises with Naval Vessels and personnel.

Engineers will be reporting to the Cheng/1 A/E, and will be responsible for the safe and correct operation and maintenance requirements of the machinery systems. Additionally, the engineer will be expected to attribute to the upkeep of the engine log book and any other assignments given by the Cheng or First Asst Engineer.

GEG offers 401(k) with company match, along with competitive health insurance plans for crew. Paid time off and paid sick days are also accrued.

**As the vessels are not continuously sailing in support of CSG-4, ROS periods are common which allow crew to go home after workdays and have weekends off. Vessels are only activated to FOS on a “by need” basis. Therefore, this is a great opportunity if you are local to the Hampton Roads, VA area to have a unique work-life balance with no rotations.
