The Mate is responsible for:

• Vessel operator
• Maintaining equipment and the Upkeep/appearance of the vessel.
• Creating worklists for the crew and ensuring all items are completed properly in a timely manner.
• Assisting the Master to ensure crew is familiar with the use and operation of all vessel systems.
• Ensuring that crewmembers are capable of deploying safety equipment.
• Keeping the Master apprised of upcoming service intervals for lifesaving/firefighting gear.
• Updating all navigational publications and charts, for all areas in which the vessel operates.
• Assist the Master to ensure the vessel is properly cleaned and maintained.
• Assist the Master in conducting safety meetings and emergency drills
• Assist with personnel transfers and the safety of technicians.
• Create work orders and/or requisitions as needed.
• Any other duties as directed by the Master.

Requirements & Qualifications

• USCG Merchant Mariner’s Credential (MMC) with a 100-ton Mate endorsement or greater
• STCW Basic safety training
• Marine radio operator permit or GMDSS
• Radar observer unlimited
• STCW medical certificate
• RFPNW
• TWIC

HSE Advisor

Our offshore wind client is seeking dedicated HSE Advisors to work on a contractual basis starting May 1st, 2024. This critical role will involve work both offshore and onshore, so previous HSE experience working offshore, particularly work involving offshore wind, is required. This is a 12 month contract with the possibility of extension. Required certifications are listed below - Atlas can assist with obtaining any non-HSE related certifications.

Responsibilities:
Create a good QHSE reporting culture through leading by example, raising awareness, knowledge sharing, and lessons learned (registration and implementation)
Monitoring, evaluation, and assessment of Contractors' QHSE behavior and performance using clients incident reporting tool (e.g. Synergi) for reporting, trend analysis etc.
Conduct regular QHSE inspections using e.g. the Digital Inspection Tool (DIT) and report potential quality risks identified
Participate and contribute to all relevant site and project QHSE meetings
Carry out routine investigations as per process
Other tasks as required in cooperation with Project QHSE Manager

Requirements:
Experience in an HSEQ capacity working offshore and/or with wind turbines
Experience working with 3rd party contractors in an HSEQ capacity
GWO certification
HSE certification(s)
Offshore Medical eval (OGUK)
Chester Step Test
