Shipyard Outfitting Manager
Primary Function:
Manages new construction outfitting departments, including, Pipefitting, Electrical, Outside Machinist, Paint, Joiner and Insulation. Oversees outfitting activity related to vessels’ construction from start-up to final testing and delivery. Willingness and ability to work with various trades is required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assumes overall responsibility of vessels’ outfit and completion.
Coordinates schedules and manages work flow among outfitting trades.
Coordinates subcontractors and vendors (i.e. joiner, flooring, and electronics) to meet schedules.
Works with various departments to facilitate proper flow of information and materials to the trades and subcontractors.
Adheres to procedures and verifies documentation requirements for installation, alignment and activation activities.
Manages and participates in test and activation on vessels. Works with regulatory bodies to complete testing and associated documentation.
Serves as point of contact for Owner’s Representatives.
Drives budgets and high quality standards.
Produces and tracks schedules to meet delivery date.
Other duties as may be assigned.
Job Requirements:
Understanding of marine systems required.
Ability to read and understand prints and technical specifications required.
Project management skill and experience required.
Strong mechanical aptitude required.
Supervisory and communication skills required.
Shipyard experience, with strong understanding of shipbuilding process, preferred.
