Job Description Summary

Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgement is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. Perform preventive and unscheduled maintenance on more specialized Dairy, facility, lab equipment and critical utilities in support of operations. Assure timely completion of maintenance activities in accordance with SOP’s and scheduled preventive maintenance programs, incorporate and/or recommend changes to existing systems, prepare parts requisitions as required and maintain appropriate inventory of spare parts. Help develop maintenance SOP’s for equipment. Site maintenance to include but not limited to vehicle wash down and maintenance, HVAC maintenance, fence repair and maintenance, snow removal and grounds maintenance, and equipment operation.

Job Description
SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES (RESPONSIBILITIES, TASKS, ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

Takes initiative to solve problems/suggest or work through improvements and upgrades. Prioritizes tasks and assignments jointly with facilities supervisor. Identify priorities but may need supervisor input with workload. Proactive in responding to customer and system needs without supervisor direction. Ability to learn and work with computerized systems, ALC – BMS/EMS, Siemens system BMS, Blue Mountain Asset management system. Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and make redline changes to drawings. Ability to independently perform preventive maintenance to HVAC systems, generators, and other equipment and utilities. Basic trade skills such as Carpentry, Plumbing and Electrical.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS)

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated computer proficiency in word, excel, outlook. A Minimum of 4 years’ experience with facilities maintenance, with a background in HVAC, Plumbing, Boilers, water and/or waste treatment. Additional experience in farm maintenance a plus. Ability to work with a scheduled maintenance program. Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings. Specialized technical schooling, formal apprenticeship or on the job training beyond high school preferred. Previous background in pharmaceutical production, GLP or GMP regulated environment requiring documentation is desired.
