ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Town of Yarmouth is searching for an Energy Manager to join their Engineering Division

The Energy Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and coordination of energy and climate mitigation-related projects, programs and policies for the Town of Yarmouth. The role supports energy efficiency and emissions reductions in schools and other municipal buildings, in pursuit of Massachusetts’ goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.
Essential Functions:
1. Manage and track energy and carbon savings projects for all municipal and school buildings

2. Manage High School Battery and verify savings to school district

3. Collect, track, analyze, and communicate energy, utility, emissions, fleet, and other relevant data. Ensure there is no stranding of net metering credits

4. Facilitate an Energy Management Assessment to evaluate the current state of energy management practices and policies in the district and municipality.

5. Prepare an annual work plan and track the work plan with quarterly and annual reports.

6. Through use of the Mass Energy Insight tool offered by the MA Department of Energy Resources, develop or refresh an Energy Management Plan of facilities.

7. In coordination with the Facilities Department and building operators, develop and manage projects that will reduce annual energy use and reduce carbon emissions. Projects may be short term or may require long-term planning. This position may need to procure and manage technical assistance and/or implementation vendors to execute work.

8. Work with Eversource and/or National Grid and town and school department to complete no cost assessments of energy saving opportunities in all school buildings and other municipal buildings. Also work with Cape Light Compact

9. Manage municipal project budgets, municipal solar projects, and create or advocate for long term funding mechanisms within Town budgets.

10. Maintain compliance with Green Communities designation from MA DOER for school and other municipal facilities, streetlights, vehicle fleet including grant management, annual reporting, and maintenance of municipal Mass Energy Insight profile.

11. Prepare written materials including requests for proposals, grant applications, bid specifications, press releases, presentations, and web content in support of carbon reduction initiatives. Procure vendors and contractors; manage consultants; secure Mass Save Program incentives; oversee project budgets and prepare project grant reports.

12. Act as liaison and point of contact across Yarmouth & school departments, local organizations, local elected officials, sponsors of Mass Save, and regional organizations on energy and sustainability issues.

13. Attend Select Board and School Committee meetings as needed.

14. Attends Monthly Energy Committee meetings and acts as staff liaison

15. Manage the creation and implementation of a Net Zero Action Plan with stakeholder groups to meet the municipal commitment to be Net Zero by 2050.

16. Research and apply for energy efficiency, climate resiliency, and renewable energy grant procurement opportunities in support of energy, climate, and sustainability goals.

17. Work with other departments to create training, outreach, and other materials related to sustainability and resiliency to support carbon reduction among residents and business owners. Recruit, train, and manage community volunteers and interns. Supervise contracted services.

18. Develop website and social-media content related to energy and sustainability. Track engagement and community-based metrics.

19. Evaluate program data to ensure efficacy of programs/materials/outreach. Drive interdepartmental learning and development related to efficiency.

Performs similar or related work as required or as situation dictates.
RECOMMENDED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Engineering, or related field plus three years of related training and/or experience in mechanical, electrical, facility or other engineering; energy efficiency; project management (with an energy focus); energy management; or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Requirements:
Class D driver’s license required.
Physical Requirements:
Minimal physical effort required when performing functions under typical office conditions, moderate physical effort required in the field. Ability to talk and hear. Occasionally required to move file boxes. Ability to travel over rough, uneven, or densely vegetated terrain, and in or about construction sites.

Waypoint Academy is seeking an exceptional leader to fill the position of Program Director. The incoming Program Director must have a clear vision to lead our extraordinary faculty in creating and maintaining a rich, engaging, and meaningful therapeutic environment that allows all students to grow academically, social/emotionally, and behaviorally.

Waypoint Academy is a special education public day school program operated by the Cape Cod Collaborative on behalf of the member public school districts throughout the region. The Cape Cod Collaborative Public Day School Program Director fulfills the mission of the Cape Cod Collaborative by working with the Executive Director and the Director of Special Education in the management and development of Waypoint Academy. Under the guidance of the Cape Cod Collaborative Board of Directors and the supervision of the Executive Director/Director of Special Education, the Program Director provides curriculum and instructional leadership, supervision (development and evaluation of personnel), compliance with Federal and State regulations, and adherence to financial and administrative needs to promote a positive, healthy and safe environment for students and staff. Waypoint Academy provides an extension of the public schools in accordance with the Cape Cod Collaborative Articles of Agreement with our member school districts and the Cape Cod Collaborative Policies and Procedures.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Supervision and implementation of the school's academic, special education, and therapeutic programs.
Monitor the implementation of the school’s academic, special education and therapeutic programming through the use of effective data collection and progress monitoring.
Development, supervision and evaluation of staff (including interviewing, hiring, orientation, and fostering retention). Ensure that teachers and paraprofessionals are evaluated annually.
Provide formal and informal feedback on observations, lesson plan review, and more.
Facilitate staff meetings to analyze student work, review/debrief student and staff needs, and plan for instruction.
Establish and maintain a positive culture and atmosphere of respect and achievement in the school.
Provide/organize staff professional development and training to meet the requirements of MA Public Day Schools as well as improvement to teaching and learning and the culture of the school environment.
Communicate in a timely and effective manner with students, staff, parents/guardians, district liaisons, and service agencies.
On an ongoing basis, communicate with the Executive Director and Director of Special Education regarding the status and effectiveness of program staff, classroom supports, student status, and make recommendations on all matters relating to the delivery of services to children attending Waypoint Academy.
Communicate regularly with district liaisons regarding student attendance, progress, and quality of service delivery.
Protect confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties and use discretion in sharing such information within legal confines.
Demonstrate and model professionalism in conduct, demeanor and work habits.
Manage staff effectively, holding staff accountable for meeting high standards for student academic, therapeutic, and behavioral performance
