We are looking for a HVAC Controls Technician / Building Automation Technician to work onsite for various customers to address day-to-day service needs as they arise or as part of installation projects.

Job Duties:

Diagnose and repair complex electronic control systems;
Repair, replace, and diagnose mechanical system components;
Program, test, and make modifications to system software or programming;
Provide sketches of field changes or discrepancies for engineering corrections to as-built drawing;
Interpret as well as understand As-Built drawings and Sequences of Operations;
Meet regularly with customers to become familiar with operating problems;
Keep customers informed on the nature of the services provided, any outstanding issues, recommended system enhancements, upgrades, and/or repairs;
Manage assigned work to meet deadlines and customer expectations;
Abide by company and customer safety guidelines and policies;
Provide training to customers on how to use or interact with front-end controls;.
Organize and complete documentation as necessary;
Work independently or as part of a team;
Work with customer IT staff to troubleshoot or establish network connectivity;
Participate in the Scheduled On-Call Technician Rotation; and
Other Controls Service related tasks as needed.

Preferred Experience:

Possesses an understanding of HVAC theory, equipment, and systems;
Serviced and commissioned Direct Digital Controls (DDC) programmable controllers;
Some practical experience with controls programming;
Some experience working with graphical user interfaces (GUIs);
Performed preventive maintenance, repair, and general servicing of HVAC controls components; and
Interacted directly with customers in a consistently professional manner.

Qualifications:

Some working knowledge of Tridium Niagara;
Experience with Honeywell, Johnson Controls, and/or ABB systems is a plus;
Computer experience required;
Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record; and
Basic electrical systems or wiring experience.
