POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Project Engineer is responsible for the strategic oversight and hands-on management of building systems, infrastructure projects, and utility operations across the organization. This role ensures optimal performance, safety, and compliance of all facilities-related functions, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and environmental systems. The Engineer will lead cross-functional initiatives, manage capital projects, and serve as a technical expert in building operations, cleanroom design, and sustainability efforts. The ideal candidate operates independently and proactively, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

WORK LOCATION:

This position is eligible for hybrid or remote work based on company requirements, with occasional on-site presence required for project execution and inspections. Domestic travel may be required (up to 20%).

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Lead and manage facilities operations, including preventive and corrective maintenance of building systems.
Oversee utilities infrastructure (HVAC, compressed air, steam, water, electrical) ensuring reliability and efficiency.
Plan, execute, and manage capital improvement projects, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades.
Serve as subject matter expert in cleanroom design, building automation systems, and energy management.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders including EHS, IT, and Regulatory Affairs to support compliance and operational goals.
Develop and maintain SOPs, maintenance logs, and documentation for inspections and audits.
Support regulatory inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and local building codes.
Lead root cause analysis and resolution of facility-related incidents and system failures.
Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance for outsourced services and construction projects.
Provide engineering support for space planning, equipment installation, and workplace optimization.
Drive sustainability initiatives and energy conservation programs across facilities.
Support business continuity planning and emergency response readiness.

Education:

Proven experience managing capital projects and building infrastructure upgrades.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, CMMS, and building automation systems.
Familiarity with GMP environments and regulatory compliance (preferred).

Sr. Facilities Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Syner-G is seeking a Senior Facilities Engineer with experience in the management, execution, and day-to-day support of building and plant operations, including labs, manufacturing plants, utilities, equipment, and systems. The ideal candidate will perform routine inspections, maintain documented records, and be on-call for emergencies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and GMPs. Effective communication and collaboration with various departments are essential to meet the facility’s needs and quickly resolve any issues.

WORK LOCATION:

Travel to client sites may be required up to 100%, based on project demands and client expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Schedule, coordinate, and oversee outside service providers for routine CM and PM Program tasks provided under building, system, or equipment maintenance contracts.
Support verification and maintenance with PIDs, HVAC, electrical, one-lines, and process flow diagrams (PFDs).
Ensure all Corrective Maintenance and Preventative Maintenance Program tasks are completed and documented properly according to policies and procedures.
Perform, schedule, coordinate, and oversee emergency troubleshooting and repair on various HVAC, mechanical, utility systems, and lab and manufacturing equipment (GxP and non-GxP).
Perform routine inspections of equipment and facility utilities to identify any issues before they become major problems, looking for signs of wear, leaks, or any abnormalities.
Maintain documented records of inspections, preventative maintenance activities, and any repairs following approved SOPs and Work Instructions to ensure compliance, audits, and tracking the overall state of the facility, utilities, and equipment.
Respond to alarms and emergencies, such as equipment failures or power outages, with a clear understanding of the facility’s emergency response procedures.
Work closely with other departments, such as engineering, manufacturing, quality control, and research and development, ensuring effective communication to meet the facility’s needs.
Troubleshoot systems to quickly identify and resolve issues.
Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively with minimal oversight.
