About the Role:
A ROV Assistant Operator serves as an important team member of ROV teams and plays a supporting role in offshore ROV inspections and other robotic inspections. The primary objective of this position is to support day-today logistical, technical, and operational aspects of ROV operations to ensure the smooth running of Company and Client ROV projects in accordance with project requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations.
Responsibilities
• Working in accordance with corporate technical, quality, and HSE policies and strategies
• Develop and maintain high-quality working relationships within Proceanic and Client teams
• Support ROV Operations Coordinator, ROV Supervisors, and Operators with inspection-specific technical needs
• Assist in training and on-the-job development of junior team members as appropriate. In the Office:
• Support the ROV Operations Coordinator with maintenance, repair, tooling, and integration of mini-ROV systems
• Assist with and learn to produce detailed multimedia inspection reports in accordance with client and Company standards.
• Assist with training and mentoring junior staff under supervision.
• Provide engineering and technical input into ROV system modifications, tooling, and integration activities.
• Assist with equipment preparation, mobilization, demobilization, and inventory tracking In the Field:
• Support ROV teams performing inspections of offshore, maritime, and other subsea assets using ROV systems.
• Provide professional input, as appropriate, to team members and client representatives based on inspection findings.
• Perform underwater hull inspections using mini-ROV systems and associated tooling.
• Perform tank, confined space, and internal structural inspections using mini-ROV systems
• Participate in risk management activities (risk assessments, JSA’s, toolbox talks, etc.)
• Perform physically demanding offshore tasks, including handling ROVs, tethers, tooling, and equipment cases; climbing ladders and stairs; and working in confined or elevated spaces
• Implement and comply with company safety procedures
• Follow company systems for quality, safety, environmental, and technical operations
• Extensive travel (up to 50% of the year), including offshore and remote locations, as required
• Perform other duties as assigned by the ROV Operations Coordinator or ROV Supervisors at client locations
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Marine, Ocean, or related engineering / technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
Other Requirements:
Valid Driver’s License Ability to pass Drug & Alcohol screening

We are looking for a Marine Engineer with a background in ship repair, vessel and equipment maintenance, project management and engineering support. A large portion of your time will be spent planning and executing drydocking and repair projects for MSRC’s fleet of USCG certificated ships and barges. You will be one of a small team of engineers working together in a collaborative and challenging professional atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
-Define regulatory inspection and repair requirements for drydocking.
-Develop technically sound repair specifications.
-Evaluate bids and proposals from shipyards and other suppliers
-Manage and execute vessel Drydocking projects and Underwater Inspections in Lieu Drydocking.
-Develop, negotiate and settle change orders and invoices.
-Provide technical engineering services for vessels and response sites including development of vessel modifications, equipment upgrades and repairs.
-Act as company point of contact to resolve regulatory questions including resolution of inspection deficiencies.
-Provide administrative and technical management of MSRC’s maintenance system.
-Develop new or improved maintenance procedures on an ongoing basis.
-Provide technical advice, training, mentoring and guidance to field and vessel maintenance and operating personnel.

Qualifications and Requirements
-Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering or related technical field.
-Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the Marine industry with demonstrated experience troubleshooting shipboard systems. Some examples include: port engineer, shipyard project manager, marine inspector, shipboard. operations or other related capacity.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills for developing technical specifications as well as routine business correspondence.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word).
-Familiarity with USCG and ABS regulations and Rules.
-Ability and desire to work in both industrial maritime environments including shipyards, as well as an office environment.
-Ability to travel up to 40% with some periods of 3-5 consecutive weeks.
-Readily available to communicate to customers in different U.S. time zones.
-Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
-Possess or obtain a Passport, and Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC); a USCG License is a plus.
