Technical Sales Engineer – Aftermarket Boiler Solutions
Job Summary:
Our client is a premier leader in the industrial boiler market. Currently seeking a high-caliber Technical Sales Engineer to drive our Aftermarket Parts and Service division. This is not a “catalog sales” role; it is a complex, solutions-based position requiring a BS in Engineering and the ability to design sophisticated service solutions that go beyond the client’s initial request. You will act as the technical bridge between our field technicians and our clients, turning on-site challenges into comprehensive service upgrades and repair contracts. If you are a self-starter who thrives on technical problem-solving, value-based selling, and managing high-stakes industrial accounts, you belong with our client.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Solution Design: Evaluate field service opportunities and design complex mechanical/electrical service solutions. You must be able to read mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams to quote accurate repairs and upgrades.
Rapid Response Quoting: Support our field technicians and boiler cleaning teams by providing rapid, manufacturer-authorized quotes while they are on-site.
Value-Based Selling: Navigate long-term sales cycles by focusing on the “Total Cost of Ownership,” ensuring clients understand the value of a premium MPN solution.
Account & Contract Management: Prospect new clients and manage existing accounts, including the negotiation of complex service contracts and maintenance agreements.
Full-Cycle Ownership: From receiving the lead to placing the PO with suppliers and coordinating with the Service Scheduling team, you own the project’s administrative and financial integrity.
Project Handoff: Identify and forward new boiler sales opportunities to the capital equipment team while coordinating larger projects with internal Project Management.
Qualifications
Education: BS Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology is required.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in industrial technical sales. Prior experience with boiler systems or aftermarket industrial products is highly preferred.
Technical Literacy: Proven ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical wiring, and technical specifications.
Systems Proficiency: Strong experience with CRM platforms (HubSpot preferred) and MS Office (Excel/Word).
Financial Acumen: Experience in industrial estimating, billing, and protecting profit margins
Soft Skills: Customer-centric problem solver, excellent time-management, and the ability to work independently with no handholding.
