Overview:
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Facilities and Capital Planning, the Executive Director of Facilities provides leadership and technical expertise to the facilities operations team consisting of facility managers, licensed trades, general maintenance, custodial services, grounds maintenance, central boiler plant operations, energy management, work control administration and environmental health & safety.

The campus has 21 buildings, including 5 residence halls, totaling 1.6 million square feet on 80 acres and has a significant deferred maintenance backlog. New funding has been allocated to assist with the operational and capital needs. The university is an emerging Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) / Minority Serving Institution (MSI) and values people from a variety of backgrounds.

Required Qualifications:
1. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, facilities management or business
2. A minimum of ten years experience in a senior management role in facilities management preferably in a higher education setting
3. Experience supervising in a unionized environment
4. Extensive experience managing facilities operating budgets

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Certified Educational Facilities Professional
2. Proficiency using Microsoft office applications, notably Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
3. Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Working Conditions:
This is a hybrid position with many on-site, in-person responsibilities in Salem, MA.
