Business Development Associate
Spirit Advisory is seeking a part-time Business Development Associate to support our growing pipeline of client engagements across offshore energy and marine technology. This is a flexible, engagement-based role — compensation and structure are negotiable and designed to suit the right candidate. Whether you are early in your maritime career or transitioning from another sector, we welcome those who bring drive, integrity, and curiosity to the table.
Key Responsibilities
• Support senior BD leads in identifying, pursuing, and developing new business opportunities across offshore energy and marine technology markets.
• Build and maintain meaningful, long-term relationships with clients, partners, and key industry stakeholders.
• Assist in the preparation, coordination, and administration of proposals, contracts, and engagement documentation.
• Represent Spirit Advisory at industry events, conferences, and networking forums — attending and contributing to panel discussions, exhibitions, and maritime sector gatherings.
• Monitor industry developments, emerging technologies, and market trends to inform business development strategy.
• Support internal reporting, client communications, and business development materials as needed.
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate brings a mix of interpersonal talent, professional ambition, and genuine interest in the maritime world. We value character as much as credentials.
Essential Qualities
• Strong interpersonal skills and a natural ability to connect with people across diverse professional settings.
• High emotional intelligence — you listen well, read rooms, and build trust naturally.
• Outgoing and confident, with a genuine enthusiasm for relationship-building and industry engagement.
• Unwavering personal integrity and honesty — values that align with Spirit Advisory’s culture.
• Strong work ethic and self-motivation, comfortable working independently in a flexible, part-time arrangement.
Ideal (But Not Required)
• Familiarity with maritime technology, offshore energy systems, or related engineering disciplines.
• Experience or education in marine science, naval architecture, ocean engineering, maritime policy, or a related field.
• Proficiency in report writing, research documentation, or technical communication.
• Prior involvement in business development, client-facing roles, or industry associations.
Why Spirit Advisory?
• Work at the forefront of offshore energy and marine technology — sectors that are shaping the future of global energy and ocean industries.
• A small, close-knit team where your contributions are seen, valued, and directly impact company growth.
• Transatlantic exposure: gain experience working across U.S. and U.K. maritime markets.
• Flexible, part-time arrangement built around your schedule and goals.
• Compensation negotiated based on your experience, with real opportunity to grow alongside the firm.
• A culture built on honesty, respect, and a shared passion for the industry
If you are drawn to the offshore energy and marine technology sectors and believe your skills and values align with Spirit Advisory’s mission, we encourage you to apply.
