Boarding Agent
Vessel boarding agent will work both collaboratively and independently, under the direction of the Operations Managers and alongside team members, to secure all standard grain export industry procedures prior to the vessel’s arrival and after the vessel’s departure.

Specific Job Duties
· Ability to work in a team environment and independently in the field.
· Acting as a liaison between ship owners and cargo interests.
· Operate company laptop, software programs, email system, and office equipment.

· Responsible for communicating efficiently for all port operations – such as customer relations, government facilities, vendors, and elevator personnel.

· Respond to all customer inquiries concerning their vessels and manage a high volume of electronic communication, including but not limited to high volume phone calls.
· Attending inspections, berthing, sailings; clearing vessels; and ordering pilots.

· Perform all administrative duties regarding documentation for arrivals and departures accurately.

· Traveling daily to obtain necessary documentation and coordinating all operational duties for assigned vessels: work with U.S. customs, USDA, elevators, customers, etc.

· Ensure safe delivery of ship mail/bunker samples to and from ships and/or husbandry deliveries and arrangements.

Skills & Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent education. College graduates are preferred but not required.
· Must hold a valid driver’s license.

· Must hold a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.

· Strong attention to detail, fluent written and verbal communication skills, proficient math skills, and demonstrative problem-solving skills.

· Ability to multi-task in a highly engaged environment, while often meeting deadlines.

· Bilingual speakers are a plus.
Working Conditions
· Willing to work during days, nights, weekends, and holidays as industry operates on 24/7/365 basis.

· Daily travel during in-port period to handle any necessary or urgent issues with vessel.
