POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a Sr. Facilities Engineer with strong technical expertise in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems, specifically within laboratory environments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of laboratory HVAC systems, electrical power distribution, and plumbing infrastructure, along with the ability to analyze and optimize system performance. This role requires familiarity with local building codes, commissioning processes, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex facility-related issues.

WORK LOCATION:
Travel to client sites may be required based on project demands and client expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide technical oversight and support for laboratory MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
Understand and evaluate the installation and operational functionality of MEP systems
Analyze and diagnose system performance using platforms such as Metasys and Analytika
Interpret and troubleshoot control logic for lab-specific systems including fume hoods, biosafety cabinets (BSCs), terminal boxes, and venturi valves
Collaborate with design, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure MEP systems meet performance and compliance standards
Support commissioning activities, including functional testing and documentation review
Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices
Participate in facility audits and inspections, providing technical input and corrective action support
Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, maintenance records, and performance data
Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system efficiency, reliability, and sustainability

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related technical field

Technical Experience:

3–7 years of experience in facilities engineering or MEP systems support, preferably in laboratory or life sciences environments
Strong working knowledge of laboratory HVAC systems, electrical distribution, and plumbing infrastructure
Experience with building automation systems (e.g., Metasys) and analytics platforms (e.g., Analytika)
Familiarity with commissioning processes and documentation
Understanding of control logic for lab-specific equipment and systems

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and collaboration abilities across technical and non-technical teams
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and control schematics
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CMMS or BMS platforms a plus
Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer keyboard and mouse; reach with hands and arms; talk and listen. The employee is frequently required to walk and sit, as well as to lift and carry objects such as tools and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to stand, stoop, or kneel. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
The work environment includes laboratory, mechanical, and utility spaces with moderate noise levels and varying temperatures. The role may require occasional work in cleanroom or controlled environments, as well as outdoor facility areas.

COMPENSATION:
The expected salary range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
