Overview
We are a commercial plumbing and HVAC equipment manufacturer’s
representative, serving the state of Arizona. We are expanding and seeking a motivated
Outside Sales Engineer to help drive growth across the Arizona territory.
Position Summary
You will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with both
prospective and existing customers. Your primary objective will be to promote and
secure specification of the company’s represented manufacturers by engaging with
engineers, architects, contractors, building owners, and end users.
In this role, you will deliver technical product knowledge and support, responding to
inquiries with clear and accurate information. You will assist in the preparation of project
cost estimates by analyzing construction plans and relevant documentation.
Additionally, you will play a key role in driving customer decisions by effectively
communicating the value proposition of the products, including operational
improvements, energy efficiencies, and cost-saving benefits.
Responsibilities
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending factory trainings,
reviewing relevant publications, establishing personal networks, and participating
in industry organizations such as ASHRAE, ASPE, and CASHE.
• Identify and pursue sales opportunities by regularly visiting prospective and
existing customers.
• Track and report on sales performance, pipeline development, and customer
feedback using HubSpot CRM software.
• Deliver technical and engineering support by answering product-related
questions and responding to requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate with the Estimating Department to prepare and present tailored
proposals based on customer needs, ensuring accurate cost estimates, system
selections, and project specifications.
• Review project documents and plans to assist in developing accurate cost
estimates and system selections.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and industry
stakeholders to enhance market presence and trust.
• Coordinate with internal operations and manufacturers to ensure accurate
communication of project status, timelines, and support needs.
• Acts as a positive representative of Company, promoting products,
services, in all interactions with customers and partners.
Competency
• Strong knowledge of boiler and plumbing systems, products, and solutions.
• Ability to read and understand technical documents such as blueprints,
specifications, and submittals.
• Proven ability to identify and pursue new sales opportunities.
• Experience in driving product specifications and securing sales.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and efficient
delivery of solutions.
• Skilled in building and maintaining long-term relationships with clients,
contractors, engineers, and decision-makers.
• Proactive and results-driven with a strong sense of ownership over sales goals
and project success.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer service and support throughout the
project lifecycle.
• Strong networking abilities within the industry to expand market presence.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear and effective
communication with customers, and team members.
Required Qualifications
• 3-5 years of experience in sales, technical sales, or engineering roles in the boiler,
plumbing, HVAC, or construction industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of boiler and plumbing systems, products, and
solutions.
• Ability to read and interpret project documents, including blueprints,
specifications, and submittals.
• Experience working with engineers, contractors, and facilities in a commercial
setting.
• Proven ability to drive product specifications, sales, and customer engagement.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present
technical information.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Sage 100, and familiarity
with HubSpot CRM software.
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as
part of a team.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel as required.
• Membership in professional organizations such as ASHRAE, ASPE, or CASHE is a
plus (dues paid for by company).
