Marine Mechanic will perform repairs and maintenance of vessel machinery.
JOB SCOPE
No supervisory or budgetary responsibilities
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Repairs and maintains vessel machinery and related systems.
Works on any part of the vessel to prevent delayed sailing.
Operates fork-lift and man-lift.
Creates electronic requisitions for parts and materials.
Rides vessel for voyage repairs if required.
Attends dry-docking if required.
Attends Hazwoper training and becomes part of the response team if required.
Responds to emergency calls after working hours if necessary.
Performs all other assigned duties.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent
Four years working with diesel engines, pneumatics, hydraulics, A/C and refrigeration system, and some knowledge of pipe fitting. Certified in fork-lift and man-lift operation. Attends A/C and Refrigeration classes within 1 1/2 years if not previously completed. Two stroke MAN mechanic ideal.
Valid Local Driver's License. Valid Passport
15% Travel to other Tropical locations

Knowledge of fork-lift and man-lift operations.
Knowledge of hazardous material handling guidelines.
Knowledge of basic safety rules.
Knowledge of Windows operating system.
Knowledge of computer operations.
Ability to supply own tools/ general tools - metric/inch.
Ability to operate shop equipment.
Ability to operate fork-lift and man-lift.
Ability to work overtime and respond to emergency calls.
Ability to travel and make voyage repairs as necessary.
Ability to perform tasks requiring heavy physical effort.
Ability to make decisions.
Ability to be flexible.
Ability to supply own hand tools.
Ability to write legibly.
Ability to work under deadline pressure and perform tasks as required. Ability to work weekends and overtime if required.
