Assistant Engineer

Positions available on the New London, CT to Orient Point, NY and New London, CT to Block Island, RI auto and high speed ferries.

Qualified candidates will perform watch-standing duties, as well as assist Chief Engineer with routine maintenance and repairs on engines and auxiliary equipment throughout the vessel. This position will also be responsible for conducting rounds, inspecting equipment and maintaining engineering logs on vessels ranging from 1340-9600 horsepower.
Work rotation either one week on/one week off, Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday.

Minimum Professional Requirements:

• Merchant Mariner Credential with QMED-Oiler rating
• Merchant Mariner Credential with Designated Duty Engineer of Motor Vessels Unlimited Horsepower or Third Assistant Engineer of Motor Vessels Unlimited Horsepower preferred
