General Responsibilities

The Director is responsible for the overall management of all the financial services programs to ensure that compliance and correct interpretation of federal, state, and institution policies and regulations are followed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for evaluating, planning, organization, and administration of all financial aid programs.
  2. In conjunction with the Vice President of Finance prepares annual student Cost of Attendance as well as the operating budget for financial aid office.
  3. Counsel students and parents on the appropriate options regarding financing an MMA education.
  4. Prepare appropriate publications as related to financial aid programs.
  5. Prepare annual awarding formulas
  6. Maintain a caseload of aid applicants to include reviewing, verifying and awarding all types of financial aid to student applicants in accordance with all federal, state and institutional policies.
  7. Responsible for reports to Federal and State Governments and the institution to report on activities and to initiate requests for funding.
  8. Responsible for the NCAA, annual Fiscal Operations report and Application (FISAP), MA DHE End of Year File submissions, MA DHE Mid-Year File Submission, IPEDS, Common Data Set, Peterson’s, US News and World Report and other statistical reporting
  9. Work in conjunction with the Registrar to prepare Gainful Employment and Financial Value Transparency Reports each year.
  10. Manage Withdrawal/Refund process as it relates to student billing and financial aid
  11. Manage Satisfactory Academic Progress evaluation and follow up…to include reviewing appeals and working with students in jeopardy of losing aid eligibility.
  12. Responsible for annual Colleague financial aid set up
  13. Create monthly Student Financial Services Newsletter
  14. Create Constitution and Citizenship Day Celebration
  15. Chair the MMA Scholarship Committee. Work closely with the Office of Advancement.
  16. Maintain and update Policy and Procedures Manual
  17. Oversees operation of loan programs including federal, state and supplemental.
  18. Oversee Federal Work Study Program.
  19. Oversee establishment of annual billing tables for undergraduate and graduate students.
  20. Oversee coordination of bill posting through Colleague/Transact on-line billing and payment systems.
  21. Oversee management of monthly payment plans
  22. Oversee management of account collections
  23. Oversee communication plan regarding all billing issues/notifications
  24. Oversee preparation of annual 1098-T forms
  25. Oversee daily, monthly and annual reconciliation, including daily cash receipts and bank deposits.
  26. Oversee refund/transfer of funds process
  27. Oversee health insurance waivers and enrollment
  28. Evaluates the workload of the financial services staff. Prepares student budgets.
  29. Act as back up Veterans Certifying Official to counsel and certify all veteran educational benefits.
  30. Utilize financial and computer systems including Colleague, COD, Federal Direct Loan Program, NSLDS.

Qualifications and Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree required, master’s preferred.
  2. 5-7 years’ current experience working in Financial Aid. Prior Directing experience preferred. Experience in state college system is desirable.
  3. Demonstrated ability in the interpretation and implementation of Federal, State and Institutional financial aid regulations.
  4. Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well with students, parents, faculty, staff and the general public.
  5. Experience with computerized financial aid systems, Colleague experience preferred.

Salary

$110,000 - $120,000 annually
