Cadet Spotlight: Meet 4/C Thomas J. Evans (MTRA - Danvers, MA)

Meet 4/C Thomas J. Evans, a Marine Transportation from Danvers, Massachusetts, a town in Essex County.  It isa short ride from Boston and near the beautiful beaches of Gloucester  Thomas attended Riverside Elementary School, the Landmark School, and Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School

Thomas’s proud mom was eager to talk about her son, “Thomas always loved fishing, going to the beach and snorkeling.  He grew up around boats and started going to sea for short trips with his dad when he was just three years old.  He spent two weeks a summer onboard the ship that his dad was captain of. “

Thomas’s mom pointed out that Maritime careers run in the Evans family.  “His dad is a retired ship master and Boston/ Eastern Point Pilot and former St. Thomas, USVI Pilot. His uncle is a Sandy Hook Pilot.  Thomas’s dad and uncle graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy.”

Thomas is sending some Caribbean sunshine back to all the people in Danvers, especially the students at Thorpe Elementary School and Highlands Elementary School.  He also sends a shoutout to students following from other North Shore towns including Topsfield, South Hamilton, and Lynn.

Thomas is eager for the TS Kennedy to dock in St. Thomas tomorrow where his father worked as a pilot.
