Position Summary

The Entry-Level Reliability Engineer is a key member of NECI’s Reliability Solutions team, supporting the delivery of reliability engineering and predictive maintenance services to industrial clients throughout the region.

In this role, you will receive hands-on training and certification in Emerson Reliability Solutions hardware and software, developing technical expertise in vibration analysis, condition monitoring, and reliability engineering. You will work both independently and collaboratively with senior engineers to solve complex equipment issues, support customer operations, and help reduce unplanned downtime.

This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer eager to gain field experience and build a strong foundation in reliability and rotating equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as a technical resource for NECI’s predictive maintenance, reliability, and wireless technologies, including online vibration monitoring systems and related solutions.
• Perform route-based vibration data collection using Emerson AMS 2140 Machinery Health Analyzer.
• Assist with data analysis in Emerson AMS Machinery Health Management software to identify faults and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor, collect, and evaluate rotating equipment health data to assess machinery condition and ensure optimal performance.
• Support dynamic field balancing and shaft laser alignment activities using Emerson AMS 2140 instrumentation.
• Assist in the preparation and delivery of detailed asset health reports with maintenance recommendations.
• Communicate technical findings clearly through customer reports and discussions with mentors and clients.
• Support troubleshooting of mechanical and rotating equipment to improve machinery reliability.
• Participate in root cause failure analysis (RCFA) to identify and mitigate failure causes.
• Help build and configure machinery databases within the Emerson AMS Machinery Manager platform.
• Conduct Infrared Thermography and Ultrasonic Inspection Surveys to detect thermal or acoustic anomalies.
• Perform Motion Amplification Inspections using RDI Technologies systems to visualize vibration issues.
• Support mechanical repair and maintenance services, including:
o Bearing and motor replacements
o Belt and coupling replacements
o Sheave-to-sheave laser alignments
o Rigging and installation assistance for rotating equipment
• Travel up to 50% of the time to client locations within New England and New York.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Technical degree in Mechanical, Facilities, or related Engineering discipline (or equivalent mechanical background).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (English speaking required).
• Demonstrated interest in reliability engineering, rotating machinery, and hands-on mechanical systems.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Must be a U.S. citizen (no work visa or sponsorship available).
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Willingness to travel throughout New England and New York as required.
Not Required, but Preferred
• Internship, co-op, or academic project experience related to reliability, maintenance, or mechanical systems.
• Exposure to vibration analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasonic inspection, or motion amplification.
• Familiarity with Emerson Reliability Solutions products or similar predictive maintenance tools.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting aptitude.
• Excellent computer proficiency and ability to learn technical software applications.
• Positive attitude, intellectual curiosity, and a desire for continuous learning and professional growth.
• A team-first mindset and passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
