Facilities Plant Engineer

Our team is expanding, and we are currently hiring a Facilities Plant Engineer. This role will contribute to the effective operation, maintenance and repair of Axcelis’ semiconductor equipment manufacturing facilities in Beverly, MA.
Responsibilities:
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment such as chillers, air compressors, pumps and boilers
• Develops criteria and performance specifications required to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes.
• Works with mechanical contractors to ensure Central Utility Building (CUB) and HVAC for the building is working properly.
• Ensures maintenance is being completed and recorded using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Ensures adherence to ISO specifications and certification requirements
• Plans facility changes for plant, office, and production equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations.
• Manages the implementation of capital mechanical projects
• Monitoring and troubleshooting of Schneider Electric Building Management Systems
• Maintains compliance of Fire Fighting and Life Safety Equipment
• DI / City Water Management
• Monitoring reports of all utilities and costs
• Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition.
• Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation and other related costs.
• Inspects construction and installation progress for conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Housekeeping and organization of spare parts
Basic Qualifications:
• An Engineering Bachelors degree is required.
• A minimum of 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience with a mechanical background.
• Interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
• Must be familiar with preventative maintenance programs.
• Must be physically able to lift 50lbs, climb ladders and work on your feet for extended periods.
• This position participates in a rotating 24/7 call-in list. Must be able to respond to maintenance call-ins within 30 minutes (approximately 1 of every 5 weeks).
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills are preferred
• Knowledge of building codes and construction techniques, energy conservation projects and clean room design and operation are desirable
• Proficiency with Building Management Systems (BMS) and maintenance recordkeeping utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• MS Office/Projects/Teams proficiency highly desirable
