About the Maintenance Americas (AC) team
The Maintenance AC team is part of the Operations AC department and is responsible for the regional availability and condition of the Ampelmann fleet. You will join a collaborative team, working closely with colleagues from across the Americas and the Europe region Maintenance teams. In addition to these direct colleagues, you will play a key role within the organization – you will work closely with Operations Project Managers, Operators, Technical Planners, and Supply Chain Management. This position is based in Providence, Rhode Island.

Your role as Field Maintenance Technician
As a Field Maintenance Technician, you keep our motion compensation systems in top condition across the Americas region. You balance hands-on work on vessels in port with preparation and administration in our systems. You are responsible for the maintenance planning and preparation (50%) and the proper and timely execution of both preventive and corrective maintenance (50%). Travelling to other locations in the United States and, sporadically, in the broader Americas region (e.g. Brazil) is required. The team consists of three Field Maintenance Technicians in Brazil, one Logistics and Warehouse Coordinator and one Field Maintenance Technician in Providence and one Field Maintenance Technician in Houston. In this role, you report to the Team Lead Field Maintenance Technicians, based in Providence.

Regular activities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Ampelmann systems both on yards, quayside and on vessels.
- Order spare parts and third-party services via our ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365) and ensure proper administration.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues and quickly set priorities when plans change.
- Efficiently communicate with operators, vessel crew, and other stakeholders.
- Actively contribute to maintenance improvement projects.

We ask
- Vocational technical education (e.g. mechanical / electrical / mechatronics / hydraulics) or comparable practical experience
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in a technical, hands-on field (automotive, heavy machinery, maintenance, installation, repair or similar)
- Good communication skills and good command of English
- Flexibility and willingness to travel (30%) is required; holding a passport is preferred
- Planning skills and administrative accuracy with a self-sufficient approach and reliable mindset

With operations established in 1881, Providence Steamboat Company is one of the oldest tugboat operations in New England. Providence Steamboat provides a full range of ship assist services on Narragansett Bay including the ports of Fall River and Somerset Massachusetts and Providence, Tiverton, Melville, Newport, Jamestown Anchorage, Quonset, and Davisville, Rhode Island.

Providence Steamboat has a long record of safe and reliable operations and is well-known for its wheelhouse green tugs, with black stacks and the white disk logo. In addition to assisting tankers, and tugs and barges in the petroleum trade, the company also works bulk cargos at the Providence Municipal dock and coal at local utility plants, serves the Navy in Newport, and assists car ships calling in the port of Davisville. The company operates from two locations with the office and dock at India Street in Providence, and a dock and maintenance facility off Shaw Street in Fall River, Massachusetts. Providence is also the homeport for McAllister Towing's offshore wind vessels Gaspee and Roger Williams.

McAllister of Narragansett Bay is seeking highly qualified Mates to join their Windfarm Support Vessel. Schedule is 14/14. Duties and responsibilities are outlined below:

Mate:

Description/Job Summary:

The Mate is responsible for assisting the Master with safe and efficient operation of the Vessel.  The Mate navigates the vessel and conducts docking/undocking evolutions. The Mate is the First Line Supervisor for members of the Deck Department. Additionally, the Mate assists the Master with maintaining the well-being of the crew.  

Preferred Experience:

Several years as an Able-Bodied Seaman/Ordinary Seaman.

Required Qualifications:

Current Advanced Firefighting, First Aid/CPR, FCC Marine Operator License

Valid Merchant Mariners Credential, 200 Ton Mate or Master License Near Coastal

Valid STCW, TWIC and Current USCG Medical Certificate

Must pass pre-employment drug test

Must pass pre-employment physical
