Public Safety
A Message for Current and Future Members of the MMA Community
Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA) recognizes that student safety and well-being are critical considerations when choosing a college. The Academy understands that concerns such as campus crime, interpersonal misconduct, mental health, substance use, and bias can impact a student’s success and sense of security. This guide provides a brief overview of key campus safety areas, ways to stay informed, and resources available for support.
Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s Annual Security Report provides detailed information on campus safety, crime statistics, and the resources available to support students, faculty, and staff. You can access the report online at [insert link to report] or request a printed copy from the Office of Public Safety.
A Note About Crime Statistics
Crime statistics alone do not fully reflect campus safety. Higher numbers can indicate a strong culture of reporting supported by MMA’s leadership and the structured guidance of the Regiment of Cadets, where students are encouraged to seek help and incidents are promptly addressed.
