Massachusetts Maritime Academy Announces 2025-2026 Regimental Leadership Team

BUZZARDS BAY, MA, ISSUED MAY 28, 2025…Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA), a top-ranked public university with undergraduate degree programs focusing on science, engineering, technology, math, and business that blend academics and experiential learning, recently announced the Regimental Leadership Team selections for the 2025-2026 academic year.
 
The Class of 2026 Regimental Leadership roster includes 25 cadets who hail from Massachusetts, with the balance from the states of Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, New York, North Carolina, and Texas.

The highly competitive selection process for the regimental leadership roles consisted of an application, position specific assignments, a physical fitness assessment, a public speaking assessment, and an interview with the selection committee comprised of members from numerous departments on campus.
 
First Class Marnay Acri-Burns, who served as Regimental Commander for the 2024/2025 academic year, recently commented on the experience.  “Serving as your Regimental Commander has been one of the greatest honors of my life. This year has been filled with challenges, triumphs, and moments that I will carry with me forever….I am so proud of all we’ve accomplished together!”
 
“We are delighted to announce the Class of 2026 regimental leadership cadets,” said Rear Admiral Francis X. McDonald, USMS, president of Massachusetts Maritime Academy. “The entire MMA community celebrates these outstanding young women and men who have demonstrated exceptional leadership while at the Academy and are poised to become leaders in the maritime industries.”
