Project Manager of Marine Engineering

Primary Responsibilities:
• Ensure proper planning and timely execution of marine compliance equipment installations and commissioning
• Collaborate with Chief Engineers, Port Engineers and Engineering Directors in project planning, implementation, and execution phases
• Provide expertise and guidance in marine environmental product installation and regulatory impact
• Provide viable solutions and corrective actions required to address issues encountered with the implementation of new technologies which require a higher level of expertise in the specific field
• Provide input to annual planning and budgeting process
Preferred Qualifications:
• BS in related engineering field (Marine, Mechanical, Naval Architecture, Environmental)
• 10+ years in the Maritime industry. Increasing responsibility throughout career with leadership role
• Sailed as Chief, First, or Second Engineer on engineering license, but not required
• Project Management, Port Engineering, or Technical Superintendent background a plus
• Strong technical and analytic skills to ensure proper equipment selection, implementation, and operation
• Leadership and management ability to properly plan and execute 2+ projects simultaneously
• Working knowledge of ABS or other class society standards, codes, and compliance requirements
• Strong time management skills to keep project(s) moving forward
• Strong communication skills are crucial in order to collaborate with multiple parties
• Knowledgeable in maritime regulatory framework, rules and guidelines
• Alternative fuel knowledge a plus (LNG)
Compensation:
• $85 – $95 an hour, based on experience
