Our client, a leader in providing tug services throughout the US, is looking for a Drydock Superintendent to join their team. In this role, you will act as the owner’s representative on-site at various shipyards throughout the US. Working with both shoreside and vessel engineers, you will ensure all drydock periods are completed on time and on budget in a safe manner as per the company’s standards. We are looking for someone with the following:
Maritime academy degree or relevant marine engineering experience
Strong preference for someone with sailing time on tugs
Excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
Comfortable working with both the yard and third party vendors to ensure budgets/timelines are being met
Act as the primary contact when dealing with regulatory bodies/inspections, including USCG and ABS
Able to travel extensively, sometimes for long drydock periods, as scheduled/needed
Must be currently authorized to work in the US, no visa or sponsorship at this time
In return for the above, our client offers an excellent base salary, great benefits, and paid time off. This is a great opportunity to join an established and stable leader that values their employees and offers both personal and professional growth.
