Deck Department Instructor

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Must be a US Citizen
At least one year experience as Chief Mate or Master on vessels of at least 100 GRT
Have experience as deck officer on vessels equipped with lifeboats with designated duties as the person in charge of a lifeboat, OR equivalent military experience.
Experience on vessels of at least 100 GRT with designated duties as the person in charge of fast rescue boat operations; OR equivalent military experience.
Preferred but not required:

Experience as person in charge of transfers of dangerous liquid cargo aboard tank ships.

Experience as a Vessel Security Officer or as a maritime security professional or equivalent military experience.

At least three years’ experience as Master on towing vessels on the ocean’s routes.

Hold a current certification as a First Aid and/or CPR instructor from a nationally recognized medical training organization (American Red Cross / American Heart Association).
