POSITION SUMMARY:
The Application Engineer/Project Manager at Aqua Solutions plays a key role as a technical liaison and project lead between the company’s engineered equipment offerings—such as pumps, controls, and water/wastewater treatment systems—and municipal clients including consulting engineers, contractors, and public works departments. Aqua Solutions is a New England representative for leading manufacturers of water and wastewater treatment equipment. This position combines technical solution design, project management, and customer relationship management to ensure the successful delivery of engineered systems that meet municipal specifications and regulatory standards. The Engineering Project Manager also supports proposal development and business growth efforts, with potential for advancement into outside technical sales.
KEY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Technical Solution Design: Collaborate with sales, engineering, and manufacturer partners to design pump and process systems that meet municipal and regulatory specifications.
Proposal Development: Prepare accurate cost estimates, technical proposals, detailed scopes and equipment selections for bids and projects.
Project Management: Oversee all aspects of assigned projects—from proposal through procurement, documentation, and delivery—ensuring schedules, budgets, and customer requirements are met.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the main point of contact for municipal engineers, contractors, and manufacturers, ensuring transparent communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
Documentation & Submittals: Prepare, review, and manage submittal packages, specifications, drawings, and O&M manuals in compliance with project requirements.
Procurement & Logistics: Coordinate equipment ordering and delivery with manufacturers and contractors; verify accuracy and manage delivery schedules.
Field & Technical Support: Conduct occasional site visits for commissioning assistance, troubleshooting, or customer training.
Data & Systems Management: Maintain accurate product, pricing, and project information within company systems and ensure data integrity across documentation and CRM tools.
Sales & Pipeline Support: Partner with sales teams to identify opportunities, support proposal strategy, and contribute to regional business growth.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory standards related to pumps, controls, and water/wastewater treatment processes.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering (or related field).
Experience with pumps, fluid handling systems, and municipal water/wastewater treatment equipment.
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and engineering specifications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate effectively across teams and with clients.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CAD, and CRM systems; familiarity with Adobe and AI-based tools preferred.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated problem-solving, decision-making, and time-management skills with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
Customer-focused mindset and ability to maintain positive relationships with manufacturers, engineers, and contractors.

The employee is occasionally required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Standard office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is minimal.
