he EHS Specialist will report directly to the EHS East Region Manager. Responsibilities include:

Developing, managing, and seeking to continually improve all required EHS programs to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal EHS regulations, including but not limited to EPA, OSHA, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, as well as all required company programs, processes, instructions, and best practices
Maintaining site environmental permits and sampling complying with all reporting and permit application requirements
Assisting with compliance to OHSA programs such as:
Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs)
Compressed Gas Cylinders and Cryogenics
Oversight and Coordination of Medical Monitoring
Routine ergonomic evaluations
Risk assessments to evaluate hazardous conditions and practices to develop control solutions utilizing Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
Radiation Programs
Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) programs including annual program reviews
Assisting with hazardous waste programs
Performing routine inspections of entire facility insuring continual audit-ready compliance with EHS policies and procedures
Managing employee volunteer safety inspection program
Providing new ideas and methods to improve safety and environmental processes
Engaging and collaborating with stakeholders to develop a culture of continuously improving performance
Learning and eventually managing all aspects of the site’s ISO 14001/45001 Environmental Management System
What you bring to the table:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science / Engineering and/or Occupational Health & Safety or related science degree preferred or equivalent EHS work experience.

Highly effective written skills, including the ability to create and update documentation including audit reports, procedures, presentations, and training materials
Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task effectively, and deal professionally with all levels of internal customers and co-workers while promoting a climate of positive relationships
Strong leadership, time management, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
Working experience in the environmental, health and safety field is preferred
