Ms. Doherty grew up working on her father's commercial lobster boat out of Sagamore and was drawn to Massachusetts Maritime Academy because of its unique mission. Ms. Doherty has been working in the Academic Resource Center since 2023. In her free time she enjoys reading, yoga, running and camping.

Background: Morgan C. Banville, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Humanities at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Her research areas are defined by the intersection of technical communication and surveillance studies, often informed by feminist methodologies. In particular, she examines how biometric technologies are implemented and perceived in medical contexts, and her research was awarded the 2024 CCCC Outstanding Dissertation Award in Technical Communication, and the 2024 Best Research Article Award from the Council for Programs in Technical and Scientific Communication (CPTSC).
