Mechanic

The Mechanic supports company’s commercial maritime and land-based power operations by performing mechanical installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of shipboard and shore-based systems. This role requires hands-on technical skill, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to work in industrial and marine environments, including active vessels, shipyards, and field project sites.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical & Technical Duties

• Install, repair, maintain, and modify mechanical systems and equipment including pumps, piping, valves, flanges, fittings, supports, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and electro-mechanical assemblies.

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, manuals, and work packages.

• Perform measurements, torquing, pressure testing, commissioning, and functional checks.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Diagnose mechanical failures and perform corrective actions.

• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance.

• Support emergency and time-critical repairs.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.

• Properly use PPE and participate in JSAs and toolbox talks.

• Maintain a safe and organized work area.

Quality & Documentation

• Perform work in accordance with ISO 9001 quality principles.

• Complete reports, checklists, and inspection records.

• Report non-conformances and unsafe conditions.

Team & Project Support

• Work collaboratively with electricians, welders, engineers, and project managers.

• Assist with material handling, staging, fabrication, and installations.

• Travel to job sites and vessels as required.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 3–5 years of mechanical technician or industrial maintenance experience.

• Marine or shipyard experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong mechanical aptitude.

• Proficiency with hand and power tools.

• Ability to read drawings and technical documentation.

• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

• Willingness to learn new concepts and skillsets

• Strong problem solving skills
