Our Client, a leader in the transportation of oil and refined products, is looking for a Safety Manager with the following experience:
Bachelors Degree and a professional safety background required
At least 7 years of Inland Towing experience, with at least 3 of those years in a shoreside leadership role (Port Captain, HSE Manager, Compliance Manager, etc)
Experience with OSHA/AWO data collections to ensure compliance with industry standards
A proven leader of safety efforts and initiatives
Strong leadership, communication, and computer software skills
Ability to adapt into an ever-changing and competitive market
Job duties will include:
Evaluating the company's procedures, facilities, personnel and equipment to ensure unsafe conditions are identified and improved upon
Responsibility of maintaining safety and accident records as well as publishing vessel safety bulletins, drills and exercises
Visit company vessels and Captains to assist with safety goals as well as maintain strong communication with the vessel crews
Report to Corporate Safety Manager on safety statistics, opportunities for improvement, and crew feedback
Create safety program presentations and present them to vessel crew as well as senior managers to ensure the safety culture message is delivered
