First Mates - High Speed Ferry (Quonset Point, RI to Martha's Vineyard)

Located in Quonset Point, North Kingstown, Rhode Island Fast Ferry is seeking qualified First Mates for our Summer Season, beginning in May. This role is not scheduled on rotations and does not provide housing; applicants must be within reasonable driving distance to Quonset, Point Rhode Island.

Job Description: Mates aboard our high-speed catamaran ferries assist the Master in the day-to-day operation of the boat, ensuring that all operations are conducted within our company's safety, security, operations, and vessel management policies and procedures. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: managing crew, performing vessel maintenance, and ensuring that all operations are conducted within our company's safety, security, operations, and vessel management policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
USCG 100GRT Master’s License, FA/CPR/AED. Radar Observer Unlimited and practical radar experience is a plus. Mechanical know-how is a plus; the ability to assist in performing vessel maintenance is required. This position will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including crew management, vessel maintenance, and administration of a variety of company policies.
