Energy Manager

As a CBRE Energy Manager, you will assist with managing the team responsible for the development and execution of energy management programs.

This job is a part of the Energy and Sustainability functional area which focuses on the development and implementation of environmental and social sustainability programs.

What You’ll Do

Identify, support, and implement energy and sustainability strategies and programs to reach client goals including long term sustainability site plans.

Engage facilities management, engineering, and project management early in the capital planning process to direct project scope commensurate with client sustainability goals. Perform energy and carbon reduction calculations.

Suggest improvements through the identification and implementation of opportunities across the client’s global real estate portfolio.

Partner with facility managers and on-site operating engineers to deliver environmental sustainability advice. Present periodic energy and sustainability status and basic variance reports to clients.

Verify global energy and sustainability standards are consistently upheld.

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and complex issues which may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.

Build and maintain knowledge of current legal and market changes relating to compliance.

Research and understand tax incentives and rebates at the state and federal levels to demonstrate all available funding sources for existing and future projects.

Connect with agencies on internal and external forums.

Perform energy audits as needed, support third-party deep decarbonization audits.

Occasionally travel as requested for site visits related to specific projects, team off site meetings, off site collaboration meetings, and other business-related travel as needed.

Identify new innovations and technologies suitable for the account that drive sustainability performance.

Work with team members the E&S team on specific initiatives that involve multiple aspects of the business such as demand response, EV charging program, refining data collection, etc

What You’ll Need

Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention preferred.

Ability to guide the exchange of complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and balance problems.

Leadership skills to empower team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job field and department.

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mentality.
