MPT is seeking a Dynamic Positioning instructor to add to their team of maritime professionals. You will teach DP and other maritime classes you may be qualified for and share your knowledge with mariners. This requires you hold a valid DP certificate.
You will a pivotal role in shaping the future of the maritime industry by imparting your knowledge
and experience to individuals seeking to embark on seafaring careers. We are seeking a US Citizen who can meet the following requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
• Instructing: Deliver comprehensive maritime education and training courses to students, ensuring they meet international standards for seagoing competence.
• Assessment: Conduct STCW assessments of competence in accordance with the approved course documentation.
Qualifications:
• Must be a US Citizen
• Has either experience, training, or evidence of instruction in effective instructional techniques; OR has completed a 40-hour Train-the-Trainer or Assessor course
• At least two years of shipboard experience as a deck officer on vessels of at least 500 GT; OR
• A valid DP Unlimited Certificate.
• DP instructors must have a minimum of 365 sea time days onboard a DP vessel as a certified DPO or equivalent as determined by The Nautical Institute (The NI).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience as a maritime instructor.
• Familiarity with maritime regulations and international standards.
• Experience in maritime simulation and training technology.
• Advanced maritime certifications or licenses.
• Teaching or instructional certification.
